…How did the universe begin? How will it end? Well, among atheist cosmologist, the mainstream belief is that the universe began literally some 15 billion years ago with a “big bang” explosion! What’s more, they predict it will one day implode and fizzle out in the same but reverse fashion. Yes, according to materialistic evolutionary philosophy, the ultimate beginning of all life is based on a massive randomized explosion in a once empty, utterly void, completely blank place where a supposed cosmic “egg” or nugget floated aimlessly in a mass of nothing for eons and one day just blew up with an unbelievable release of energy and heat! From there, everything flew into existence with more explosions that finally caused living matter to pop up into existence. Well there you have it! Amazingly, the majority of the world’s greatest scientific minds firmly believe and teach this beginning with every school child and upwards to all college students in our secular schools and universities. Isn’t it wonderful to know this, and better yet believe this? How comforting to know you and I, we are just the mindless product of a random senseless explosion!

Well friends, I’ve got good news for those whose brains are not part of that explosion, to know that this theory of origin of the universe, is the most stupid, ignorant nonsense formulated by minds that are corrupt and depraved in the eyes of the Creator who brought all things into existence. So after another moment of music, I’ll share with you the truth about the origin of all things, and better yet, the wonderful consequences it brings to us all...

…Yes, evolutionary science today affirms it has absolute faith in what is often called the “BIG BANG” theory of origins. The “Big Bang” is usually defined as a random, chance event where some instability developed in a single “kernel” of mass energy, that alone existed, which randomly blew up, like an inflating life raft, and ballooned outward unwrapping for us the intricate universe and all that it marvelously contains. However, the Bible, God’s Word clearly denies such an accidental origins theory completely, as does common sense.

However, within Christian circles there are some, who fearing the wrath of their fellow evolutionary scientists, have tried to bring the non-creative, Big Bang theory of origins into harmony with what God has told us about our beginnings. We call these teachers “theistic-evolutionists,” or by the new term, “progressive creationists.” However, their theories that God used long evolutionary ages after the universe began with this “big bang,” to bring us life as we know it today, seriously conflicts with what the Bible says. Now as we begin, let’s talk about the secular anti-Creator God view of origins called the Big Bang theory.

Evolutionary scientists say that in the beginning there was nothing, absolutely nothing but a “kernel,” a “nugget” or “egg” of massive random condensed energy, just floating in the space of “nothing,” for eons of time. However, mind you there was there was no time, but somehow this “egg” just blew up one day and began unwrapping all its contents. So, from a highly compressed form its energetic radiation carefully expanded and stretched out. But there this blanket of energy lay for more eons, and as the massive pancake cooled, it began to form the first hydrogen and helium atoms, all floating around in the space of the empty universe. Well, after about five billion years, the expanded omelet gave birth to the first stars which formed from the cooling gas in the young shapeless universe. Following that with more eons of time, the star forming process eventually gave rise to the Milky Way and other galaxies. The egg/omelet continued its random, mindless work, and after the cooling stars aged, some of them began to supernova and the results, mind you which were random and mindless and without design, recombined into new stars to repeat the formation-disintegration process. Soon after, more millions of years, our sun came into existence as a third-generation star, having formed, evolutionists say, about five billions years ago. Still the universe had many star fragments floating aimlessly around in space, and were looking for something to do. So the left over bunch from the supernova stars, decided to get together and build all the planets in the universe. Then miraculously, and of coruse mindlessly with no design at all, began to form again into living matter and voila, all life forms, including you and me now exist! Well friends, I’m breathless and speechless.

Now just think rationally, to really believe such nonsense is more ludicrous than accepting that a 747 Jetliner with all its exquisite equipment on board, and a full crew of pilots, attendants and passengers aboard, all popped into existence from a random explosion in a junk yard that wasn’t even there!

Well there you have it – that is the “BIG BANG” theory of origins which is, may I say, is “BONKERS!”-  a word for just CRAZY!!

Thankfully though, apart from this goofy, nutcase explanation of the origin of all things, there is a better and more intelligent one that has weight for belief. What is it? Well it’s called the CREATION THEORY of origins. That is, all things came into existence by the careful and intricate design of the infinite mind and work of an eternal Creator and designer, called God. We find the Bible has no problem telling us how all things began. With utter simplicity and yet reasonable thought the Psalmist wrote,

Psa 33:9 (NIV)  For He (The Creator God) spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

In fact, the first book in the Bible, called Genesis, opens with these magnificent words of origin,

Gen 1:1 (NIV)  “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

Dr. Henry Morris from the Creation Research society and an accomplished scientist himself writes about this first verse of Scripture by saying,

“This opening verse of the Bible is unique, the foundation of foundations, probably the first words ever written down, either revealed to Adam, or even written directly by God Himself. One who really believes Genesis 1:1 will have no difficulty believing the rest of Scripture. God (Elohim) is eternal, existing before the universe, and is omnipotent, having created the universe. Therefore, nothing is impossible with God, and He alone gives meaning to everything. No attempt is made in this verse to prove God; it was recorded in the beginning when no one doubted God.”[1]

Yes, the Book of Genesis alone tells of the actual origin of the space-mass-time continuum which constitutes our physical universe. The Bible alone tells us everything began by “creation.” Every other system of cosmogony, whether in ancient religious myths or modern scientific models, starts with eternal matter or energy in some form, from which other entities were supposedly gradually derived by some process. Indeed, only the Bible attempts to account for the ultimate origin of all matter, space, and time; and it does so uniquely in terms of special creation and design.

However what do evolutionists say supports their theory there was no creator God, no Master Designer of the universe and all living things? Their answer is  -- nothing! They just throw out this so-called theory which is no theory at all, and expect everyone to believe it. However what they don’t tell you is the BIG BANG theory of origins is scientifically and seriously flawed throughout and a completely inadequate explanation to be accepted. Why? Let me share with you the fundamental problems seldom mentioned in evolutionary literature promoting the Big Bang origin.

Dr. Donald B. DeYoung has written a book entitled “Astronomy & the Bible.” He writes of these discrepancies or "missing links" in the theory as: [2]

1. Missing Origin:
The big bang theory assumes an original concentration of energy. But, where did this energy come from? Astronomers sometimes speak of an origin from a "quantum mechanical fluctuation within a vacuum." However, in the big bang theory, no vacuum existed before the explosion. Actually there is no consistent secular origin theory, since every idea is based on preexisting matter or energy.

2. Missing Fuse:
What ignited the big bang? The mass concentration proposed in this theory would remain forever bound as a universal black hole. Gravity would prevent it from ever expanding outward. It could not explode as they theorize out of nothing.

3. Missing Star Formation:
No natural way has been found to explain the formation of planets, stars, and galaxies. An explosion should produce, at best, an outward spray of gas and radiation. This gas would continue expanding, not form asteroids, not to mention intricate planets, stars, and entire galaxies.

4. Missing Antimatter:
Some versions of the big bang theory require the equal production of matter and antimatter. However, only small traces of antimatter, that is positrons and antiprotons, for example, are found in space.

5. Missing Time:
Increasing experiments today indicate that the universe may really be young, rather than ancient, on the order of up to no more than 10,000 years old. If true, then there is not sufficient time for the consequences of the big bang theory to unfold as purported. A short time span will not allow for the gradual evolution of the stars or life on Earth for that matter.

6. Missing Mass:
Many scientists assume that the universe will eventually stop expanding and begin to collapse inward. Then it will again explode and repeat its oscillating type of perpetual motion. This idea is an effort to avoid an origin and destiny for the universe. For oscillation to occur, however, the universe must have a certain density or distribution of mass. So far, measurements of the mass density are 100 times smaller than expected. In fact, there are indications that the universe is accelerating outward instead of slowing down. The universe does not appear to be oscillating. The necessary mass or "dark matter" is effectually "missing."

7. Missing Life:
In an evolving universe, life should have developed everywhere, not just on planet earth. Space should be filled with radio signals from all forms of intelligent life that indiscriminately appeared. But, where is everybody?

8. Missing Neutrinos:
These small particles of matter should flood the earth from the sun's fusion process. The small number detected raises questions about the sun's energy source and man's overall understanding of the universe. How then can evolutionary science speak about "origins" with any authority? The answer is they cannot!

Although this explanation of discrepancies is somewhat complex in description, the point is even if the BING BANG theory was plausible; it is filled with holes and cannot float in an intelligent discussion of origins. So why then is it proposed and promoted? Again the answer is to find some reason not to believe in a Creator God and be accountable to Him.

This then is why reason is often rejected when it comes to evolutionary ideas of origins of life. But let’s not stop here. We need to ask two more important questions. First think about this  –  “DO EXPLOSIONS EVER INCREASE ORDER?” The answer is never! Here’s a second question: “DOES ENERGY ALONE PRODUCE ORDER?” Again the answer must be no. It would be nice to plug a wire into our electrical sockets and sit back and wait to see a computer form on the other end. If you believe energy alone can produce matter then this is reasonable to conclude. Well, the stalwart evolutionist counters, “IF YOU ADD TIME…” then evolution is possible. Really?

Perhaps if you add 4-10 billion years, one can believe life as we know it evolved. But let’s ask another question again: “WHAT REALLY HAPPENS WHEN TIME MARCHES ON? Three unalterable things…

1.      All things that are complex and orderly become random and disorderly.

2.      All things that begin brand new by creation, soon get old and break down.

3.      All living things likewise with age, breakdown and wear out.

Now why do all these things happen and is there no exception? The answer is there is an unalterable law in the universe working which is called the LAW OF ENTROPY. This is the Second Law of Thermodynamics and is the most constant law of nature found everywhere in the universe. Entropy means everything as time progresses wears out, breaks down and changes inwardly into randomness. All energy in the universe wears out. Stars burn out, galaxies fly apart, and all energy becomes less and less useful in time. Science, especially evolutionary science is painfully aware of this fact that everything in the universes is running down. Say, did you know the Bible tells us this even before man discovered the law of entropy?

Psa 102:25-27 (NIV)  In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. 26 They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. 27 But you remain the same, and your years will never end.

Indeed, the aging of the earth and heavens is a relatively recent discovery of science which is the universal principle that every system of any sort or size tends to disintegrate with time, is now recognized as this Second Law of Thermodynamics, “the Law of Entropy,” and has no known exception. In fact, the Bible tells us the reason why it exists and is operative. The Law of Entropy reflects God's primeval Curse on the creation because of sin.

Gen 3:15-17 (NIV)  And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." 16 To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you." 17 To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.

 

Rom 8:20-22 (NIV)  For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

Now using that little gray matter between your ears, you can extrapolate, or “think” --

The Second Law of Thermodynamics, or the Law of Entropy proves there had to be a beginning point once in time, or else all creation would be dead by now. The universe cannot have an infinite past. The first Law of Thermodymanics is all energy is conserved. This means it was once wound up, contained, bottled, or whatever term you like to use – “conserved.” This speaks of a total creation, originally completed and sustained by some massive power which we call – God! Again the Bible tells us this,

Neh 9:6 (NIV)  You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.

Col 1:16-17 (NIV)  For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

2 Pet 3:5-7 (NIV)  But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

This last verse of scripture Peter writes in the New Testament, tells us God is holding all things together, until the Day of Judgment arrives. This Day in Scripture is called the 2^nd Coming of Jesus Christ, when the Creator God who came the first time in human flesh, that is Jesus of Nazareth, will one day return. The Creator of all things, Himself will return to the earth to judge His highest creation, mankind. What is the basis of judgment? Well my friend one thing – what did you do with God’s Son Jesus Christ? Did you believe Him when He said, “I am He,” the Creator God? Did you believe what He said about you and me that we are born sinners under judgment, and that all sinners will be removed from the presence of God one day? Have you come to accept God’s Word that teaches us God loves us and doesn’t want to punish us, and has devised a plan that is holy and just to save us from our sins and the coming penalty of Hell and death?

Yes, God is holding His Creation together, keeping it running until that Day! I’m thankful I am ready, I have believed God’s Word about Creation, about sin, about heaven, about eternal life, and about Christ dying for me! I’ve reached out by faith and called upon God the Son Jesus Christ to save me, and grant me His forgiveness of my sins and the promised new life in Christ He offers to all who come to Him. I know when that Day comes I will be ready, and although God will take His hand off the keeping of the universe, I will never die, but live on with Him to face and enjoy the NEW universe and life He will recreate for the righteous to enjoy for eternity. Oh what a glorious day that will be. I’m ready are you? Now isn’t it simpler to believe a great infinite sovereign God designed and created all things, rather than believing in “nothing fashioning everything?” I’ve shared all these things to point your heart, mind and eyes in one direction – heaven to see Jesus clearly. May God grant that to all who listen for Jesus sake, Amen.
