“TODAY AN ONSLAUGHT OF THE WORST KIND OF EVIL HAS PENETRATED THE MINDS AND hearts OF PEOPLE IN THE WESTERN WORLD -- AN EVIL SO WICKED, IT WILL BRING THE MOST VIOLENT WRATH OF GOD UPON ANY CAUGHT IN ITS GRIP WHEN JUDGMENT COMES”

 I’m Dennis Finnan, host and speaker on the World, the Word & You! Broadcast, and in a moment we’ll talk about the world of the Occult and Satanism …

…Every morning as we step forth from our homes, we step out into a world that confronts us with many tangible dangers. First of all, they can come from accidents in travel, on the job, or just plain anywhere, and to some how catching life threatening yet invisible germs, diseases or infections. Truly we live in a dangerous world that can quickly destroy the quality of and even our lives itself. Our greatest concern these days are the powerful yet invisible enemies such as:  the scary flesh-eating bacteria, known as “Necrotizing Fasciitis.” When a person becomes infected with this, it aggressively progresses within hours to bring toxic shock, massive organ failure, even holes burrowed deep into skin, where the once healthy skin simply dies and even falls off in chunks. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predicts over 1,500 cases for this year alone. This disease can be contracted from something simple as a scratch.

It is a scary world we live in, but in addition to all these invisible dangers, there is one even more subtle and deadly that most Americans today are totally unaware of its presence. It is the danger of the world of the Occult that now is presented to us as something good and wholesome and even entertaining. Following another pause for a musical refreshment, I’ll return to expose this threat so you can be amply armed against it taking down your life or the lives of your family. My message today is entitled: THE OCCULT AND SATANISM…

… One of the greatest revivals in our land these days is the rise of the world of the Occult, which is being presented to unsuspecting Americans as something good and harmlessly entertaining. Have you notice the rise of motion pictures, television shows and books that now present the dark world of the occult as something helpful, good and harmlessly entertaining? TV shows like, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Charmed, Sightings, and even Hollywood’s new emphasis on occult films such as Harry Potter, the Blair Witch Project, and the Haunting  -- all introduce us to the world of evil or the Occult, as something harmless for us to explore. I tell you, we are being deceived, and what’s worse even Christians and their children are following this “Pied Piper” of death and destruction, Satan himself, is the one who orchestrates all this to ruin lives now and for eternity. So to begin, let me explain what “is” the world of the occult, and how far it has penetrated our American life these days.

Now the term “occult” is derived from a Latin word ,"occultus," which means to cover up, to hide, or those things which are hidden or secret. A brief biblical definition of the occult then is:

 “The practice of attaining and utilizing supernatural knowledge and or powers apart from the God of the Bible.”

Through these practices, occultists seek to influence the present or future circumstances of their lives and or the lives of others. Now where do we find the Occult presented to us today? Here’s a list of occult practices or “windows” into this dangerous world that God condemns. We find it lurking in,

Astrology, Fortunetelling - of any kind such as palm reading, crystal ball gazing, numerology, etc; Tarot Cards; Ouija Boards; Séances and any involvement with mediums or spiritists; Astrology and any form of horoscopes; I Ching; Hypnotism; Transcendental Meditation or any type of Far Eastern Meditation; Crystals; Witchcraft; Satanism; Voodoo; Channeling; Reincarnation; Astral projection; ESP; Dungeons and Dragons - role-playing games; New Age Movement techniques, activities and medicinal practices such as: Homeopathy, Holistic Therapies,  Reflexology, Yoga, Acupuncture, ROLFING,  APPLIED KINESIOLOGY,  IRIDOLOGY , POLARITY, AURIC BALANCING, REIKI REBIRTHING, BIOFEEDBACK, BIO-RYTHYMS; Necromancy and the like.

All these things, are either activities or helps to avoid in your life because they are “windows” to the unseen forces of evil that reside beyond the dimension of the world we live in.

The truth is the Bible clearly teaches that there are supernatural and powerful evil spirits known as “fallen angels or demons” that inhabit our world, though unseen. Thankfully, there are also good spirits known as the “holy angels” that also inhabit the unseen world around us. It is for this reasons we must be careful to avoid any contact with, or seeking to experience the power and abilities of the fallen supernatural world without the God.

Now, God has much to say about contact with this unseen demon world around us, especially for a Christian. We are told specifically in Scripture:

Lev 19:31 (NLT)  "Do not rely on mediums and psychics, for you will be defiled by them. I, the LORD, am your God.”

Deu 4:19 (NLT)  “And when you look up into the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars--all the forces of heaven--don't be seduced by them and worship them…”

Deu 18:10-12 (NLT)  “… do not let your people practice fortune-telling or sorcery, or allow them to interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, 11 or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is an object of horror and disgust to the LORD…”

Gal 5:19-21 (NLT)  “When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your lives will produce these evil results… participation in demonic activities… and other kinds of sin. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God .”

These are just a few of the stern warnings, God gave in the Old and New Testament for His people to heed. We are not to dabble in, be entertained by, or seek help from any source of the supernatural world around us, except it be from God Himself.

Today, many people dabble in the mystical, occultic arts. Is there anything wrong with being involved in these practices? Yes, for the Bible strongly condemns these practices. The truth is, we belong to God by creation and therefore God has a right to rule our lives. God’s Word further tells us that these occultic practices are part of Satan's strategy of evil and deception, designed to lead us away from God and to a Christless eternity. Do not reject this truth, Satan and his demons are real beings set on your destruction. Christians are warned,

Eph 6:12 (NLT)  "For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms."

Yet today even Christians are getting involved in the world of the Occult. Pastors, church leaders and Christian parents see nothing wrong with introducing their children to what is called “white magic, witches, warlocks, and the like through the immensely popular books such as the “HARRY POTTER” series, or LORD OF THE RINGS,” celebrating Halloween with ghosts and ghouls, and even seeking supernatural powers of healing , miracle working and knowledge. 

I’ve been told by some pastor’s it’s just entertainment, or at the least we can learn from the good moral things the characters do in these stories. Friend, I remind you the Bible says,

Psa 101:4 (NIV)  “… have nothing to do with evil.”

Rom 12:9 (NIV)  “… Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.”

Eph 6:12 (NIV)  “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

1 Th 5:22 (NIV)  “Avoid every kind of evil.”

Today statistics tells us there are more witches in England and America, than at any time since the Reformation, and at no time in the history of civilization has occultism and its various forms of Satanic invasion been so widely practiced and accepted as today!

Indeed, we are witnessing a spiritual invasion of evil penetrating our world and capturing the hearts of parents and their children, ushering them into the world of darkness to be enslaved there, until God Himself rescues them by their cry of faith in Jesus Christ, the Lord of everything.

Now what are some of the power and enslavements Satan grants or supresses any and all who enter his world, seeking entertainment by the supernatural? Here’s a list of what powers one can get:

“Knowledge of future events, miraculous healing powers, spiritual Charisma and power to control minds, magical performance powers, psychic powers, super human strength powers, super sensory phenomena, extrasensory perceptions, levitation, spirit mediumship, clairvoyance, astral travel, telekinesis and many more supernatural power!”

Indeed, many seek this and will find it initially. We see this in the world of entertainment. People such as David Blane and his supernatural magick, and David Copperfield, then the world of Wicca and others who display such powers. Although much of it may still be “slight of hand,” other things they do go beyond the realm of natural trickery to supernatural powers neither of this world nor from God. Therefore, whether it is just fictional entertainment, or reality, God forbids us to dabble in it or allow it into our minds and hearts.

 Yet, the onslaught is on! From fantasy games for the computer that abound for children to classroom teachings, our children and adults are being exposed to dangers of the occult world that once hooked, can bring deadly enslavement too. Now I’ve only mentioned the powers one can get from the occult world a moment ago, but what about the other side that is enslavement and torture? Yes torture! Here are some of the torturous things the world of Satan and his demons will give you once you allow them entrance into your mind, heart, body and soul:

“All forms of sickness, disease, increase in suffering from physical accidents and injury, Schizophrenia, and other forms of mental illness, becoming suicidal,  mental torment, sleeplessness, enslavement to pornography, homosexuality and other sexual perversions, promiscuity and lust, deep seated hate, uncontrollable anger and violence towards others, especially one’s family and loved ones, drug addiction, murderous desires and extreme hated for Christianity and true believers in Jesus Christ .”

All these things can come to any and all, regardless of their age when they open the “windows” of the world of the occult. Now what can a person do who discovers they have been deceived by demonic forces and perhaps even innocently allowed them into their life or family? The answer is go to the God of the Bible who alone can deliver you from them.

 

SIX STEPS TO BE DELIVERED FROM THE OCCULT

#1 SEEK JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL GOD AND SAVIOR 

Permanent deliverance and restoration comes only with a forgiven relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have not trusted Christ, receive Him through a personal prayer of confession and faith as your Lord and Savior. When you do, you will be set free from the Kingdom of Darkness and placed under the authority of the Kingdom of Light . (1 Peter 2:9)

#2  CONFESS YOUR SPECIFIC SINS OF DISOBEDIENCE AND INVOLVEMENT IN THE OCCULT. 

Whatever you’ve done, accepted, participated in, and or promoted in the name of evil, confess it to God as sin. He will hear you and cleanse you of it all.

#3  THROW OUT ALL BOOKS, VIDEOS, CHARMS, AND OTHER OCCULT PARAPHERNALIA 

A perfect example of this is given to us in,

Acts 19:19-20 (NLT)  "A number of them who had been practicing magic brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars. 20 So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect."

Those who had come to Christ burned their objects publicly. Having occult items around such as crystals, books, game boards, cards, and statues may provide a source of temptation to return, or prevent Christ from banishing them from your home and heart.

#4  BREAK OFF ALL CONTACT WITH MEDIUMS AND OTHER OCCULT FRIENDS AND  ASSOCIATIONS 

You must seek new acquaintances in the Church of Jesus Christ who are saved and walking in the light of God and His Word. They will give you strength and the power of God around you all will protect you.

#5  SEEK A CHRISTIAN COUNSELOR OR PASTOR TO HELP YOU IN THE TRANSITION 

Although God will deliver you, Satan will continue for some time to seek to draw you back into his world of darkness. Transition can be difficult, but don’t give up. Seek the help of knowledgeable Christians who will pray with you and guide you into all truth.

#6  BE SURE TO JOIN YOURSELF TO A CHRISTIAN CHURCH FELLOWSHIP THAT DOES NOT APPROVE OF DABBLING IN THE WORLD OF THE OCCULT 

There you will find Christian friends, and accurate bible teachings to help you grow in Christ and learn what to avoid in your life that caused your seeking the world of occult.

If you do these things no matter how deep you’ve fallen into the grip of Satan, God will free you!I tell you we are in a serious and massive war for the souls of men and children in these last days, as Satan is working endlessly to capture the minds, hearts, bodies and souls of humanity; to drag them down to a Christless eternity; and to suffer in Hell with him forever and ever.

            … Now, do you really want to go to Hell?

If not, and I’m sure none do, (for who in their right minds would seek this) then seek Jesus Christ right now to save you and seat you into His kingdom of light coming to earth and to become His child for all eternity. Remember, all it takes is to see Jesus clearly for who He is and what He has done for you.

Indeed, Jesus Christ is the Creator God come in human flesh. He came to the earth to die for our sins and be a fully human substitute, for the Bible says, all mankind has sinned again God in word, deed and by nature. This sin, God says deserves the punishment of eternal separation from Him and all His goodness. This separation will be experienced in a place God created, call Hell. Make no mistake, we are all Hell bound sinners from birth being born of Adam and Eve; But the Bible says,

John 3:16 (NIV)  "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Rom 5:8 (NIV)  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Do you know Jesus Christ personally? I’m not asking if you are religious, or good and honest, or that you believe in God or Jesus Christ. The Bible says,

James 2:19 (NIV)  You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder.

In order to become God’s protected forever child, everyone must confess their sins to God and claim His forgiveness through the blood-death, on the cross, of Jesus Christ. We do this by  surrendering our lives and hearts to Him as our God and only Savior. All who do, are saved once for all and forever.

As a Christian, Satan can have no lasting power over us, and we are assured that upon death  we shall go into the very presence of God to enjoy Him for all eternity. Now that’s a good deal and for us it is free to all who ask. May God grant you deliverance, not only from the world of the occult, but also the world of your own sinful self. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Demonism, occultism, and the like come to us today as something good, pleasurable, and entertaining. Have nothing to do with it and more keep your children from it all regardless of how popular it has become. Demonic things such as the paranormal, spiritual powers. Games, Hollywood films and books that enchant our minds are just deceptive “windows” to the world of darkness that invites you in. God will not stop you, but He alone can rescue you. May God so help all who are listening to take note of all these things for their good and God’s pleasure.
