I’m Dennis Finnan, host and speaker on the World the Word & You! Broadcast, and in a moment we’ll talk about education for the Christian in the 21st century…
… In American history we know that for the first 100 years, the Protestant Church and public education were intertwined and most Americans assumed, inseparable. The Lord’s Prayer, the Golden Rule of the Bible, the Ten Commandments ¾ all were taught in every schoolroom every day! Moreover, traditional Christian religious holidays were openly observed and celebrated to the delight of children, parents and the nation. But now for two decades since the Supreme Court was taken over by renegade constitutional revolutionists, all that has been banned and stripped from the curriculums, daily teachings and life of our American school children. The result has been quite measurable though. Today we have grotesque misbehavior, crime, perversion, drugs and outrageous teaching which has taken the place of the Judeo-Christian philosophy that once hallowed the halls of all secular academic learning. In its place we have substituted secular Humanism, the official religion of atheism for our once Christian heritage. So today, I want to talk to you about this and what you should consider if you have children or grandchildren of school age. Burt first, let’s listen to another moment of music, then I will return to talk plainly on the terrible dangers of secular education that face the 21st century child. Stay tuned…
… Some years ago and it hasn’t gotten better, Joseph Califano, then Secretary of Health Education and Welfare said, “THE WORST PLACE A TEENAGER CAN BE TODAY IS IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM.” Indeed, I believe the greatest threat to America is not invasion, nuclear war or winter, global warming, nor another oil embargo. The greatest threat to America today is our secular education system that has abandoned with glee the time honored principles and philosophy upon which America was founded and operated exclusively for over 100 years!
Now we in America all know what’s wrong with secular education these days ¾ our system doesn’t have enough government money and freedom from parental and community control to do its job right! Hasn’t that been the ridiculous cry of public educators for the past 30 years? Yet with every year a whopping increased budget is appropriated by our government funded by the taxpayer to bolster the failing public school system, and proportionately education has gone down in quality, product, and safety for the children nationwide. What’s changed things in the last 50 years? The answer in one word ¾ “godlessness.” Yes, the sin of rejecting God and His Word for life and living and substituting mankind’s own philosophy, a godless one at that.
Atheism is the official religion of secular humanism. What does secular humanism teach? Let me outline it for you and you be the judge of what philosophy environment your school children will be taught in our public schools anywhere in the nation today.
1. Belief in the centrality of man - Yes, to the atheist, the human being is the center of all life and living and therefore his or her pleasure, satisfaction, and desires must be met above all other considerations. Man exists purely for his own personal happiness first and foremost. Children are taught this from an early age and they go out in life seeking only one thing ¾ the personal happiness of themselves at any cost!
2. BELIEF IN THE PERFECT ABILITY FOR HUMAN REASON TO RULE ALL LIFE – Human reason is consider flawless and therefore man is his own authority. It is taught that an individual has the personal right to establish his or her own rules for living and nothing can be wrong or sinful. When a problem does arise man is the problem solver. All freedom is manmade and personal and community morality is based on solely upon man’s logic, desire, and the will of the majority. God’s reason and will is rejected, so along with it goes the whole Christian philosophy of life.
3. BELIEF THAT ALL MANKIND IS ESSENTIALLY GOOD, AND THAT MAN IS NOT EVIL, NOR SINFUL – Contrary to Christian teaching that all human beings are born with a sin nature, which if left to itself is only evil all the time, Humanism and public education that follows it teaches man is divine himself and under no judgment of sin, nor any god of higher authority. All human beings if taught goodness, will naturally reach for it. Therefore, children need no spiritual readjustment for decency within humankind. Individuals need to be self-oriented and need total freedom from all religious superstitions, especially that which is called Christianity. As a result, all lifestyles are good and to be considered for life and living, especially the alternate lifestyle of homosexuality. So your school child will be taught day after day, year after year until he or she believes and practices it!
4. BELIEF THAT SALVATION OF THE HUMAN BEING IS MANMADE – Since life is the product of random change evolution, there is no god who created us, nor rules us ¾ every child then has the potential to become a god unto himself. Through acts of human love, kindness, care, consideration and advancing science, we are all evolving upward and higher to a godlike status. Hence the popularity of the New Age Movement that deifies man.
5. BELIEF IN HUMAN ABILITY TO GOVERN OURSELVES – Humanism and our public schools universally teaches that man’s future will one day be assured by a human One-world Government. American patriotism is dead in our schools and considered evil. This mind warp is achieved by teaching the value and pursuit of “multiculturalism.” Multiculturalism teaches that all world cultures are in and of themselves good and wholesome, except of course the culture of the Judeo-Christian philosophy and ethic. That is ridiculed or just forbidden. In retrospect, Mankind will one day reach the state of global perfection, goodness, peace, tranquility and abundance when all the above is taught and believed worldwide from a child. Godless cultures like the American Indian, Asian, and African cultures are promoted and along with it come the lifestyles and living that ruined these lands and nations. America rather than being a melting pot becomes a chamber pot of boiling entities seeking control of one another, while God honoring Christianity’s western culture is spurned and ridiculed. That is humanism at it’s worst.
Now if you consider all that I’ve said, no one can deny
this has become the only official teaching that is permitted these days in
secular public education. God has been banned, Christianity and Jesus Christ
have been banned from every thought, textbook and activity in the learning
process of American children. Want a case in point? How about the latest
teaching called,
DIVERSITY DAYS TRAINING– Many schools are promoting these days
what is called multicultural diversity days. In Santa Rosa High School in
California, a "Week of Diversity" on April 9-13 was held that
included 82 presentations by outside speakers. Fourteen classes specifically
addressed gender, homophobia, and AIDS issues, all in support of the gay,
lesbian, bisexual, and transgender philosophies. They taught in this training,
the exclusively that these life-styles are not a choice, but genetic, and that
they are healthy and normal. Seventeen classes supported vegetarianism, animal
rights and various far-left environmental causes. Five classes were devoted to
police bashing, and fostering distrust for lawful authority. Two classes
focused on making a "hate-free world." One of the presenters
portrayed a person who expresses hatred as a believer in a "book" the
Bible of course, which she reads every day and especially on Sunday, that gives
her the right to hate and to put others down. In others words their teaching is
there is no evil, wrongdoing, nor sin in this world and children need to
understand that and reject such teaching especially found in “the Book.” the
Bible. That is public school teaching today!
Yes, there is trouble in every American school and mainly because of the
arrogant rejection of Christianity and its philosophy of life. What has
resulted?
1. A SHARP DECLINE IN BASIC SKILLS – The average SAT scores rapidly declined and each year they are continuing to go down. To stem this embarrassment, public education has lowered the testing standard so as not to show this frightening dumbing down of our children’s education. A case in point ¾ a Colorado College is offering a Lego-building test in lieu of the SAT for some admissions. Arizona's Board of Education this year will revisit and possibly revise a new 10th-grade math test, which only one in 10 students passed last year. New York, Massachusetts and California have relaxed or delayed new standards, and Wisconsin has withdrawn a test that every student would have been required to pass in order to graduate from high school.

RISING VIOLENCE – From mayhem to execution style murder, all
this runs amuck in classrooms. I need not tell you about this. We’ve all
witnessed the school shootings, knifing, stabbings, robbery, and even rape that
goes on there. Some schools have become so violent; teachers refuse to work
there without on-guard police protection and hazardous duty pay! A Texas
teacher last year decided that her first grade class needed a lesson in ancient
history. So she showed the film “A Quest for Fire.” With gruesome violence and
graphic sexual
situations, the movie stunned not only the kids, but also their parents. Yet it
was permissible because it was deemed, education.

FOREIGN RELIGIONS & THE OCCULT NOW ARE OFFICIALLY TAUGHT
– Yes, when the vacuum was created by throwing out Christianity, the basis of
all education in our American school history, something had to take its place.
It did. Eastern religion, and its dabbling in the occult moved in. From witchcraft, voodoo, black magic,
astrology, to its new official face called the NEW AGE religion, public school
curriculum now is filled with it to entice students to explore their inner
child, to seek ascended masters and spirits who want to help them cope with
life, and to turn to this nefarious underworld of demonism. Millions of public
school children are infected by these sinful and condemned practices.
4.
ALTERNATE LIFESTYLES PROMOTED HEAVILY – Indeed,
sexual perversion such as homosexuality and lesbianism is brought regularly
into the school system to be presented to children. At their vulnerable age and
stage of life, our children are encouraged to explore what once was called
sexual perversion. Films, books, and various teaching are delivered to them day
after day. In California GAY PRIDE MONTH is celebrated in the schools. Homosexuals,
their organizations and teaching materials are introduced to schoolchildren as
young as kindergarten. Any opposition is taught as “homophobia” and of the dark
ages. Christianity’s teaching that it is sin and pervasion is taught as a hate
crime, and to be ridiculed and rejected. Counselors have moved into some
schools to help so-called “gay” children come out of the closet and find
homosexual mentors. In addition, all 50 states and at least 34 national
organizations receive federal funds from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
for the purpose of developing and implementing "Comprehensive School
Health [Sex] Education" programs. The CDC-funded
"Programs-That-Work" uses role-playing as an integral part of the
curriculum, with girls required to role-play to convince boys to wear condoms,
girls discussing AIDS concerns in a lesbian relationship, and a boy and girl
discussing "safer sex with multiple partners." This I believe has produced much of the
promiscuousness of today’s youth, and the devastating Sexually Transmitted
diseases that are plaguing them.
Now the point of all this is, as school begins again for its new season, where is your child going to be educated? How is your child going to be educated? My absolute suggestion is for you to consider a private education, where the principles of America’s foundation still rule. That can only be found in Home-schooling and Christian schools. If you are a Christian today I urge you to consider it. Why? Because the bible teaches that man was created for God’s glory.
Isa 43:7 (NNAS) “Everyone who is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, Whom I have formed, even whom I have made.””
Therefore, all education for Christians must have the standard of glorifying God and preparing children to live lives that glorify Him. The religion of secular humanism is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Christ and is dedicated to evangelizing your child away from God. Our public schools have been very successful and may well continue to be as long as you send your child to these Philistine schools. The stakes are high. School is where the bulk of all learning takes place. Each child will have some 16,000 hours there by the time he graduates from high school. Furthermore, the Bible warns us of a number of things to consider when we begin deciding how and with what our Christian children are to be educated. Listen to the Word of God.
Deu 6:6-7 (NNAS) “”These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.”
Deu 18:19 (NNAS) “’It shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him.”
Jer 10:2 (NNAS) “Thus says the LORD, “Do not learn the way of the [godless] nations…”
Col 2:8 (NNAS) “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.”
These are explicit warnings from God that the world without Christ is seeking the souls of children to covert them to their godless philosophies of life. So consider these important truths and make your decision. Remember, there are only two things that we can take with us to Heaven. It is (1) the Word of God and (2) the souls of men. God help us if by educational neglect and abuse, we lose our children for all eternity!
Thankfully by the tens of thousands, U.S. youngsters are shifting from public schools into private Christian classrooms and home schooling. I believe this can be the spark of revival in our nation, but barring this, if we allow in the 21st century, our Christian children to be educated by the godless world, we shall ultimately lose the vast majority to sin and a Christless eternity.
May God give you leading and a strong heart to make the right decision for your child, children or even grandchildren this school year beginning. Yes, grandparents can help their children by providing funds for Christian education for their grandchildren. What a wonderful investment in eternity that is. Now may God give leading to you today in this important matter for Jesus sake, Amen…
…Your children ¾ will they be the victims of public education or the recipient of a god-fearing Christ-honoring education in home schooling or private Christian schooling? I hope you have chosen or will choose the latter. You’ll never be sorry. My wife and I some thirty years ago choose Christian education for our five children. To this day we thank God for it as they as adults live their lives in honor to Christ, and raise their children in the same manner and purpose. The same heritage and joy can be yours, but you must consider paying the price. Yes, it cost my wife and I much to rear our children in a godly education but it paid heavy dividends. The truth is my friend; each of us will pay in the end anyway. The question is what will we have bought? An eternity with Christ for your children and grandchildren, or an eternity lost in sin and disgrace in this life and the next? God grant you His peace, assurance and leading in the school year before you.
