“HAVE YOU NOTICED THE EXTREME PUSH THESE DAYS TO DIGNIFY A LONG STANDING PERVERSION OF LIFE CALLED HOMOSEXUALITY; AND, THE DANGERS IT POSES TO INDIVIDUALS AND SOCIETY WHICH PROMOTE THIS LIFESTYLE?”

 I’m Dennis Finnan, host and speaker on the World, the Word & You! Broadcast and in a moment we’ll talk about the individual and societal dangers of promoting and living the lifestyle of sodomy and God’s hope and promise to those who do …

… May I be frank? I’m sick and tired of the unending promotion of Hollywood , the media and educationalists today, who relentlessly propagate the image of homosexuality and lesbianism, as one of the most fit, healthy, and well-adjusted lifestyles for American life. The reality of this is far the opposite! Rather, statistics show that homosexual and lesbian relationships are typically characterized by unhealthy living often with, lifelong mental instability, outrageous promiscuity, and risky and dangerous sex practices. All these factors have greatly increased the incidence of serious and incurable sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including hepatitis, HPV, syphilis, gonorrhea, and the dreaded and incurable death sentence, called AIDS. Yet our liberal news pundits, shameless Hollywood actors, godless school administrators and educators constantly tell our society and its children especially, that those who practice homosexuality, male or female are the most well adjusted and socially beneficial people in America!

Well today I want to burst that bubble, not in a tirade of anger, or as some call “hate,” but rather in love and especially to later tell the “GOOD NEWS” God has for all who have been enslaved to and suffered from this lifestyle. But first one more moment of music and then please hear my response to this serious social disorder about to bring judgment on our nation…

… My topic today is not one of personal choice, but mandatory, for I am a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, I am witnessing in our society, a nightmarish push by the godless liberal crowd, for America to accept as normal and positive, the sexually perverted lifestyles of homosexuality and lesbianism. I know that for any public figure to speak of this today, can be a death knell to their political future, as the media and wealthy pro-homosexual groups would relentlessly persecute any such talk and consideration. Well friends, I’m not running for any office on earth, nor do I have an ax to grind or an agenda in my preaching the Good News gospel of Christ, except to tell the truth of what we are witnessing and what God has said to us about it.

Now if you don’t believe this is happening today all across America and especially targeted to school children. Listen to this:

“ California ’s school districts have introduced pro-homosexual material into the elementary school curriculum — starting with the second grade — following a state task force’s recommendation to create lesson plans that include positive images of homosexuality. The new classroom material is advertised as promoting acceptance and celebrating diversity “by presenting role models from many different… sexual orientations…. To make matters worse, many private schools also now promote the acceptance of homosexuality in the name of “diversity” and “tolerance.”[1]

How sick that is, but nonetheless it is going on as homosexuals and their sympathizers approve of corrupting the minds of impressionable young children. Since that was implemented a few years ago, things have actually gotten worse!  Now today some of the hottest questions asked are:  “Is homosexuality an inborn disposition or a free choice? Should states endorse same sex marriages? Should sodomites be ordained to the Christian ministry? Should churches bless and perform same sex marriages?” Indeed, overwhelmingly our society seems to be moving toward a concerted cry of “Yes to all of these!”

Well friends, I’m going to tell you the truth today, and you need to decide what to do with it.

Let’s begin by defining words. For starters what is homosexuality? “Homo" is from the Greek word, homos, meaning "same." Homosexuality is “having a sexual desire for one of the same sex.” A homosexual then is one who practices any and  or all forms of sexual perversions with a person from the same sex. As applied to women, "Lesbian" is derived from “ Lesbos ,” the ancient Greek island supposedly inhabited only by women. Another familiar term is "Sodomy," which comes from the vile homosexual activity of the society of men of the city of Sodom found in he Bible in the book of Genesis, chapter 19.

Now although this practice is found in ancient times it is still with us to this day. Now as facts seem to be in, historically well-known people practice or have practiced this deviant lifestyle. People like Plato, the Roman Caesars, many of the past kings of European nations, famous poets, writers, artists, and musicians, and today well known political figures and Hollywood actors and actresses --  all have either practiced homosexuality, or have been found to dabble in it for their personal pleasure. I believe this is why it is being promoted as something worthy and to be considered as part of our present day humanity.

However this is not good at all! In fact, it is an evil which the Bible plainly declares the Creator God, who made us male and female, hates it with a passion and literally calls it “an abomination.”

This word “abomination” is the strongest word in our language meaning “an action that is vicious, vile, and reprehensible; also an action that arouses disgust, abhorrence and even hate”

The Bible in both testaments strongly condemns homosexuality as a wicked perversion against God's design of one man and one woman in a loving, monogamous lifelong marriage. We read in,

Lev 18:22 ( N KJV )  'You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

Lev 20:13 ( N KJV )  'If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

Jesus Christ said in the New Testament,

Mat 19:4-5 ( NIV )  "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' 5 and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'?

The apostles wrote in the New Testament for the Church to understand and adhere to,

  1 Cor 6:9-10 “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God ? Do not be deceived… homosexual offenders…will not inherit the kingdom of God .”

On the basis of this and other passages clear passages of Scripture, we who serve the God of the Bible who created the world of humanity, must draw the following conclusions about homosexuality.

1.  THe Bible FROM COVER TO COVER declares that homosexualITY is a wicked sin GOD HATES!

Although many factors contribute to individual practice of this sin; nonetheless, God’s Word says it is an abomination in His eyes and under judgment.  We don’t deny that some of the factors that cause individuals to begin such a lifestyle may be: (1) the sinful nature we are born with, (2) the weaknesses of our bodies, (3) evil influences in our environment, (4) temptations and encouragement from other sinners, and most important (5) our own sinful choice. Yes, all join together to lead various people into such wicked sin. Indeed, all of these factors have been known to contribute to an individual embracing the homosexual lifestyle. Secondly,

2. GOD COMMANDS CHRISTIANS TO WARN THE IMPENITENT THAT THIS SIN EXCLUDES ONE FROM HEAVEN AND ETERNAL LIFE

The Christian Church, must believe God and His Word. Therefore, we cannot bless same-sex marriages or unions, nor those who practice homosexuality, since these are contrary to the will of God. Nor should the church place into nor retain in church leadership, people who defend, condone, or persist in words or actions that are contrary to God’s law on this matter.
In addition, if you are a Christian today, or a pastor or other church leader God commands you to speak up and against this sin and openly warn of God’s judgments that will come to individuals and societies that condone and practice homosexuality as a lifestyle. Listen to God’s warning again,

1 Cor 6:9-10 ( NIV )  Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God ? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God .

“Homosexual offenders,” refer to those who practice this sexual perversion willingly and openly in defiance of God’s word and warning. They will surely be barred from Heaven along with other sins that are rebelliously practiced and sent to confinement in a place called Hell! Indeed, this is serous business but there is more.
God wants us in the church, to publicly warn the society in which we live, that those who practice the sin of homosexuality will bring dire and deadly diseases upon themselves and spread them to others, and if not stopped will bring judgment on any nation that publicly permits it. Again, listen to God’s warning given to individuals and any society that openly approves of its practice,

Psa 9:17 ( NIV )  “The wicked return to the grave, all the nations that forget God.”

Rom 1:21-27 ( NLT )  “Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks… The result was that their minds became dark and confused… As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies… 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved.”

Note that the Word of God tells us that practice of homosexual perversions would bring a personal physical penalty within one’s own body. This doesn’t mean STD’s are God’s curse upon homosexuals. Rather it means these things are the result of rejecting God’s warnings of His built-in temporal judgments for sexually living outside God’s standard for a healthy life. Today, this has come true in the sexually transmitted diseases that were born within the homosexual movement. Homosexual and lesbian relationships are typically characterized by a high incidence of serious and incurable sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including hepatitis, HPV, syphilis, gonorrhea, and AIDS.
Moreover, the homosexual lifestyle has been documented to show it also brings a significant increase in mental instability, severe depression, suicidal tendencies, violent behavior, alcoholism, drug use, and a predatory lifestyle of seeking to create new perverts by preying on the young and impressionable children of our society. Yes, God say judgment will come to all individuals and societies that permit, promote and practice the wicked sin of homosexuality.

Now today we are told a number of lies about homosexuality, the greatest being it is not a choice, for one is born this way! POPPYCOCK!
In actuality, there is absolutely no scientific proof of this although supposedly reported by homosexual groups; moreover, the opposite has been found true. We are born male or female and nothing in between. Homosexuality is a learned sin experience, as is all sexual perversions found these days! It is for this reason God holds all accountable for such disobedience.

Now before I finish I want everyone to know I do not hate homosexuals. But, I do hate their lifestyle and what it brings to them and more the society in which I live. Yet thanks be to God there is

3. THERE IS GOOD NEWS FOR HOMOSEXUALS. GOD LOVES THEM AND IS WILLING TO SAVE THEM.

I am happy to assure the repentant, that is those who want out of such a lifestyle, and realize its sinfulness, those who are struggling against this sin, that they can have complete forgiveness through acceptance of the substitutionary death of Christ on their behalf. You see, when Christ died for all of the sins of the whole world, he purchased full forgiveness which includes all homosexual deeds, and all homosexual desires, and for the inborn sinful nature in us all, that produces these sins. Listen to the “Good News” from God,

1 Cor 6:11 ( NLT )  There was a time when some of you were just like that [homosexual offenders],  but now your sins have been washed away, and you have been set apart for God. You have been made right with God because of what the Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God have done for you.

Indeed, in the Corinthian Church of the first century, apparently many practiced homosexuality as part of Roman and Greek culture. But, they were “saved out of it,” when they personally called upon Jesus Christ to save them from this vile sin and lifestyle. This was accomplished when they received Christ into their heart and life, by a full surrender of their life and confession of all their sins. Yes, upon that confession, God saved them and gave them the power to change and live above their past sin life. O’ Glory to God, the Bible tells us homosexuals can change and become normal heterosexuals living a chaste and obedient life.

Therefore we should sympathize with all who are struggling personally with the sin of homosexuality, remembering that we too have "pet sins" that may have an equally strong foothold on us.  The Bible tells us every sin is both a choice of the will and the expression of an inborn tendency to sin. Our sinful will is guilty of consent whenever we sin in thought, word, or deed. As a result of our sin nature, all of us at one time or another have taken pleasure in our sins and defended them. So then, we all need God's forgiveness, not only for sins we practice, but even for those sinful desires that we may resist for the moment and do not act upon. So, Christ’s forgiveness covers every form of every sin for the repentant believer and follower of Christianity.

Now, how should Christians respond to such sins being promoted in our society? Our Christian duty toward homosexuals (and toward all the sexually immoral, all thieves, swindlers, murderers, slanderers, and drunkards, and any violators of God's will too) is clear — we are to confront the impenitent with God's law, the Ten Commandments which condemns their sin, and we are to comfort the penitent with the GOOD NEWS gospel, which offers them full forgiveness.

Therefore as Christian citizens, of God’s kingdom but also these United States , we Christians should work for moral laws that will protect society from the harmful consequences of all public sin. As citizens we should promote such laws on the basis of reason and natural knowledge of the law, not only a biblical mandate. However, if the state tolerates moral evils, which violate God's law, we will continue to oppose all of them, first on the basis of God's Word, and their detrimental moral effects on society.

All across America today, there is the push to promote laws approving of and benefiting those who practice homosexuality. Many states are attempting to curb this open approval and the seeking of same sex marriages by passing State amendments to their constitutions, defining marriage as between one man and one woman only. This is socially right and biblical, and we must encourage such to become the law of the land to protect our nation from God’s judgment and to heed God’s warnings of judgment to come in the deadly rise of disease, moral degradation and disorder.

What’s the overall answer to all our problems as a nation we suffer these days? The answer is in one word -- JESUS! Yes, God offers our world and our nation His blessing and His benefits, but only when nation’s turn back to God and accepts His Son Jesus Christ, as the source of all laws and practices. The Bible says positively and negatively,

Jude 1:7 ( NIV )  In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

Jude 1:14-15 ( NIV )  Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones 15 to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him."

1 John 5:12 ( NIV )  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

John 3:16 ( NIV )  "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Turn your life over to Jesus today, and enter the joy of His gift of life eternal, and best of all a life of renewal and blessing to come here and now. Friend, thanks be to God this is the “GOOD NEWS” FOR HOMOSEXUALS!

May God grant deliverance for those who truly want out of the enslavement such deviant sexual orientation brings, and may they find the reality of Jesus Christ as their God and Savior who will cleanse them of their sin, and grant them a new life in Christ to live for His glory. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
