In May 1993, an unprecedented legal decision turned into motion,
the wheels of America's most serious violation of the laws of
God ever witnessed by any nation on the face of the earth. Yes,
a decision that today unless, massive public outcry rises to stand,
may be the final straw that brings the judgment of God on the
United States of America. I'm Dennis Finnan, and in a moment I'll
share with you this serious issue and the importance of your role
in it.
Whatever happened to live and let live? Why are so many religious
people up in arms about the personal and individual lifestyles
an American chooses for living? Isn't this a free nation, a pluralistic
nation that affords everyone the right to live as they please?
Consequently those who embrace the homosexual lifestyle have a
constitutional right to live that way without public and legal
chastening. Well my friend that sounds very good, but it is neither
legal nor publicly acceptable. Unfortunately the issue of homosexuality
will not go away, until the American people deal with it and come
to a consensus about it. Therefore on today's broadcast, I want
to address the issue of homosexuality in light of the recent Hawaiian
Supreme Court's magnanimous decision to grant homosexuals marital
status and privilege in the State of Hawaii, unless the state
can prove "compelling interest" to prohibit it. As this
is a complex subject which I cannot fully cover, I will try to
highlight the issues, and the consequences of such legislation
for you now …
In was the merry, merry month of May 1993, a not so merry Supreme
Court in the state of Hawaii voted upon one of the world's most
astonishing decisions ever to have been made. The Hawaiian Supreme
Court ruled 3-1 that the state's exclusion of same sex couples
from marital status was unconstitutional because it amounted to
sex discrimination, unless, the state could prove otherwise. So
the issue was remanded to a lower court to "prove compelling
interest" why the state should continue its ban on same sex
marriages. As this sad saga continued, in December 1995, the Hawaii
Commission on Sexual Orientation voted 5-2 to recommend that same-sex
couples be granted identical legal marriage status now conferred
on married couples. While the governor's commission's report is
non-binding, it shows the attitude of the legal leadership of
Hawaii itself. In fact, Hawaii's governor and lieutenant governor
are also "on-record" as favoring same sex marriages
and granting homosexuals full legal marital rights.
What's worse is the fact that the lower court of the state is
facing the work to prove "compelling state interest,"
why the ban should continue. Such proof is almost impossible to
prove beyond a reasonable doubt. In fact, liberal courts have
used this test to dismantle a variety of discriminatory state
laws all across the nation. Thus, it seems that when the lower
court deals with this issue in the summer of 1996, we may find
Hawaii to be the very first state that stands firmly on the protection
and promotion of homosexual marriages.
What's most sad is that the consequences will not be confined
to Hawaii. This Hawaiian affair will affect every state in the
union because our nation has what are called "reciprocity
laws." This means whatever another state grants to its citizens,
other states must recognize. Two homosexuals can thus marry in
Hawaii and come back to their home, say in Missouri, Nebraska,
Iowa or Minnesota - and our states must honor such an immoral
union as legal and protected privilege. The only exception a state
has, is to have on its books of law, a public statue that forbids
another state's laws contrary to its own. When such a conflict
arises, the public policy reasons to favor its own law thankfully
takes precedent over the other state's conflicting ruling.
However getting back to this issue of homosexual marriage. How
is it that this nation once a bastion of moral and spiritual strength,
has come to such a low as this, to even consider such a corrupt
union? The answer is, a wholesale rejection of God and His Word
has occurred in the judicial leadership of the land. Yes, our
courts in America are now filled with godless, evolutionary thinkers,
whose stated goals, off the record, speak of a plan to dismantle
the Judeo-Christian laws of this nation in favor of the New Age
order of rejection of God and the Christian world view. The only
thing left for the decent citizen's of Hawaii to do is, to pass
a Constitutional amendment to affirm the traditional marriage
role and laws that America was founded upon. And, also for the
rest of the states to pass legislation prohibiting homosexual
marriages. If this is not done by the time 1996 completes its
journey of time, our nation will have finally sunk to its lowest
level of societal corruption and rebellion to God.
Now the irony of all this is that recent statistics show that
more than 70% of the entire nation "strongly" rejects
homosexual marriage for societal approval. In fact, even in Hawaii
where this unprecedented rebellion to wholesome law is being
railroaded through, more than 97% of the population which is heterosexual,
are opposed to such legislation! Therefore, the good people of
Hawaii and the nation are being held hostage to a small minority
of judges who are opposed to the nations traditional laws and
principles of decency and virtue. These justices, rather than
being interpreters of the law these godless justices are now legislating
law to suit their own social and spiritual disobedience to the
law of God and their nation's heritage.
Now someone will ask - what's so wrong about this concept of homosexual
marriage? Well first t has never been acceptable to the American
society since our nation's beginnings. In fact, clear and restrictive
sodomy laws have for centuries been on the books of our cities,
states and the Union, because homosexuality has always been viewed
as a crime against nature. The acts of homosexuals and lesbians
which the Bible calls the sin of sodomy, is detestable to the
overwhelming majority of Americans. This is why homosexuals try
to keep the issue of their actions and lifestyle away from public
debate. Yet nature itself cries out against the filthy acts of
these individuals who now want to force their sexual perversion
on every American in our land. You see if homosexual marriage
laws are ruled valid, then every state which does not have laws
to the contrary must recognize such unions the same as heterosexual
marriage and afford the same rights, protection and privileges.
This means justices will have to marry same sex couples who come
to them. Those who rent homes, apartments, or run businesses will
have to give same sex partners equal access, full benefits and
provisions of employment for married spouses or face discriminatory
violation of law effecting heavy fines and penalties. Even more
revolutionary, our schools will be forced to teach and promote
the acceptability of homosexual marriage in family life courses.
Homosexual couples will be given free rights to even adopt children.
All businesses will be forced to grant marital benefits to same
sex couples. Marital survivor benefits under social security and
pension plans will be paid to homosexual mates. I tell you all
"hell" will break out in the land as the entire concept
of righteousness and decency will be flung in the dust and trampled
upon by the monster of "political correctness and law."
Now many ask today - why is homosexuality wrong? What ax do we Christians have to grind against these people who are constantly touted as, "the cream of the crop," citizens of virtue, compassion, care and love? The answer is the Word of God, medicine, science and nature itself judges -
HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT AN IDENTITY, IT IS A BEHAVIOR.
As such, those who carry on in such manner are guilty of wicked
sin against God, and perversion of nature itself. The pressure
is on all across the land with the cry that, homosexuals can't
help themselves since they are born that way. The Bible says differently.
We read in,
Genesis 2:22-24 (NIV) "Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib[side] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. 23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man." 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."
Genesis 1:27 (NIV) "So God created man in his own
image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he
created them."
God says the union of "one flesh," that is the intimate
union of two people socially, spiritually and physically is reserved
for men and women exclusively. In fact, the Bible has only evil
to say of any same sex relationships. In the Old Testament it
calls such action as homosexuality, the sin of sodomy, because
that was the sin of those who lived in Sodom and Gomorrah - towns
that had given themselves over to promoting, practicing and protecting
homosexual rights. Every description of those who commit these
sinful acts God speaks of them in strong condemnatory and negative
terms.
For instance, the acts of homosexuality are called by God: an
abomination ( Lev. 18:22), worthy of death ( Lev.20:13; Rom.1:32),
uncleanness (Job 36:14), shameful, vile lusts ( Rom.1:26), immoral
homosexual offenders (1 Cor.6:9), filthy living of lawless men
(2 Pet.2:7), perverts (1 Tim.1:10), morally reprobate (Rom 1:26-28).
Yes, all these terms are given by God Himself and are judgments
not against the identity of any individual, but against their
behavior which they were not born with, but chose to practice
by the sinful corruption of their minds and bodies. God condemns
all homosexual living, but does not condemn the sinner, rather
He calls them to come out from their sins and embrace His truth
and Word. For when any individual regardless of their sinful behavior,
be it any sexual immorality fornication, adultery, or homosexuality,
recognizes that these are sinful acts and confesses the same before
God - The Bible says God will reach down and forgive them and
cleanse them of their wicked ways. We are told in,
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NIV) "Do you not know that the
wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived:
Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor
male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the
greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit
the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But
you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the
name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."
Although we Christians are called various unkind names such as
bigots, homophobics, and haters of innocent people. On the contrary,
no true Christian hates a homosexual any more than we hate rapists,
murderers, thieves, adulterers or drug addicts. We simply point
out such living and action is ungodly, and carries with it serious
consequences for the victims and perpetrators of these anti-social
and anti-spiritual behavior. Friend, I believe its time to speak
up. The 70- 97% of the American public must stand up now, and
voice its disapproval and hatred for the vile behavior of homosexuality.
We must debunk the lies homosexuals are trying to force Americans
to believe.
The first is -- (1) Homosexuality is a genetic birthright.
This is not true! It is not genetically endowed, it is a learned
behavior taught and promoted by sinful wicked people. In addition,
homosexuality is not an evolutionary natural occurrence in the
animal kingdom. These are all scientifically unsubstantiated falsehoods.
Moreover, we must refuse to believe the lie that (2) homosexuality
is a harmless lifestyle. For "per capita,"
more crimes, violent and sexual are committed against children
and the populous by homosexual perverts than any other behavior
group.
Even more, we must resist and debunk the false teaching believed
today that (3) homosexuals are the oppressed minority
and should have the same civil rights extended to them regarding
their homosexual behavior as other minorities. How dare these
people compare themselves to minorities of race, good fine people
whose only stigma is the color of their skin? Racism should be
condemned in any and all ways, but homosexuality is not a benign
factor like race. Therefore has no protection or benefit.
Then again we must resist the false idea promoted today by political
correctness that says (4) homosexuals are normal, healthy
everyday people. Studies that can be substantiated
confirm that these people are filled with guilt, sexual obsession
and moral perversion. I can't tell you on the radio specifically
what the homosexual lifestyles and sexual practices are. They
are so vile and upsetting, its a shame to speak of them. And,
if you knew, you would be revolted. If you are getting this message
in print. I've taken the liberty to document in print these vile
statistics taken from the Berean League survey of June 1991, which
reports the gross extent of abnormality and unhealthy acts these
people practice in the pursuit of their corrupt lifestyles. Here
it is. Read it and weep.

God help these poor people caught up in these wretched sins of
physical abuse and sexual perversion. No my friend it is neither
normal nor healthy, nor are these people everyday people. That
is a bold faced lie and falsehood.
Now, when the Hawaiian affair comes to its seemingly inevitable
conclusion - Hawaii sometime in the summer of 1996 will become
the first state to fully sanction and approve of homosexual marriage
for American life and civil protection and benefits. The only
path from there will be the total dismantling of society as we
know it. The definition of the family will be forever redefined.
The rearing of children will be given over to perverts whose goal
will be to evangelize the next generation to teach them the practice
of their vile affections. Its already being done in our public
school systems now with the approval and promotion by teacher's
unions such as the National Educational Association.
God help us friend, if we remain silent. Now I speak up quite
a bit on this issue, and I want you to know I'm attacked for it.
The NEA, homosexual organizations and individual sympathizers
regularly write and vilify me. However, if we stand together,
if we voice our opposition, the vast majority of heterosexual
people will take back this nation from its inevitable destructive
path. In an election year we must contact our political candidates
and legislators, even our political party we belong to and ask
them to write legislation, take public stands, and form a position
plank, and where possible run for office yourself - from your
local school board to the Whitehouse. The Bible warns us,
Psalms 9:17 (NIV) "The wicked return to the grave,
all the nations that forget God." Proverbs 29:2 (NIV) "When
the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule,
the people groan."
Remember and take hope for the fact that for now, the righteous
in America are still the majority. Let us therefore thrive by
standing up, and speaking out before it's too late. Encourage
your state legislators to pass laws banning same sex marriages,
put back on the books the righteous sodomy laws that once protected
our nation of people. And when you hear these myths of homosexuality
touted as truth, speak out and call them to account for the false
statements they have proven to be. For only when we take a stand,
will we preserve our nation for our children's heritage to come.
The Hawaiian affair, seeking to approve homosexual marriage is
your affair too! Do something about it or it may become too late.
The Bible says that when ancient Israel refused to obey God's
righteous laws and neglected to implement them in their nation
and life, God's patience and long suffering came to an end. What
was left was only judgment which cruelly fell on God's people.
We read these ominous words in closing,
2 Chronicles 36:15-16 (NIV) "The LORD, the God of
their fathers, sent word to them through his messengers again
and again, because he had pity on his people and on his dwelling
place. 16 But they mocked God's messengers, despised his words
and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the LORD was aroused
against his people and there was no remedy."
No remedy! No matter how the people pleaded for forgiveness and
another chance, God's din of judgment fell. They were all taken
away by the sword and slavery. Oh may we wake up, return to God
and His Word, stand up against all such unrighteousness in the
land, and hear the "bell for whom it tolls." Friend
according to the Hawaiian affair, "it tolls for you and me."
In closing Let me say - far be it that this broadcast and my heart
is centered against those whose sin is homosexuality. Although
this false attack is designed to cloud the issue, I and all true
believers do not hate homosexuals, rather we hate their behavior
and sin. We hate what it is doing to them and to the rest of society.
We hate nature's built in punishments, the STD's that as a result
are destroying our culture. We hate the crime, violence, abuse
of children, and destruction of souls that comes from embracing
the sin of homosexuality. We want to see such victims delivered
from sin unto forgiveness and life eternal. But we also know that
only comes when we confess our sins and call upon Jesus Christ
our God and Creator to save us and forgive us. The Bible promises,
all who come to Christ not only receive forgiveness, but also
a new heart to live godly before our world and heaven itself.
We proclaim deliverance to every homosexual who desires to come
out from their sins. We offer our love, care, mutual respect and
blessing to all who repent and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
But failure to do this, refusal to turn from sins of the flesh,
mind and heart - we stand against all such disobedience and take
our stand with God. He will vindicate us and bring judgment to
all who disobey His Word and will. Here we stand, we can do no
more.
