If someone were to ask you what one thing
has affected the greatest change in our society and culture today,
what would you reply? Well, your answer probably would be wrong,
for statistics reveal the greatest effect for change to our culture
is being accomplished by of all things, the Homosexual Movement.
In a moment we'll examine this in light of our historic American
and Christian heritage…
Just last year, the National Education Association better known as the NEA at its annual convention, passed a "statement of belief" resolution, that asks all public school teachers and their schools to recognize and honor the homosexual lifestyle by celebrating a "Gay and Lesbian Awareness month." This was recommended to be a time where tolerance, mutual respect and of course acceptance of those who practice homosexuality, was to be promoted among all students. Well, when I learned of this resolution, I wrote a letter to the editor of one of our local area newspaper questioning the moral and social reasoning and purpose of such a resolution. Needless to say, I as swamped by letters written personally to me condemning my questioning and calling me everything from a homophobic to an incompetent spiritual baffoon who should mind his own business. Amazingly, the source of these letters came from the president of a local branch of the National Education Association, and a number of area school teachers. They were shocked that I, a minister, would dare question and condemn the NEA and its resolution to promote the homosexual lifestyle.
For twenty centuries Western civilization has mainly been influenced
by the preaching of the Judeo- Christian ethic of the Bible, the
Word of God. The result has been the overthrow of the social and
sexual chaos of paganistic philosophies and false religions. However,
in the past twenty years, society's moral and spiritual emphasis
has moved away from this to embrace various deviant social and
sexual practices and principles that now promote the deviant homosexual
movement. This embrace has now moved into the world of government
protection and political correctness, so much so that our children's
classrooms are now the evangelism field for the devastating rape
of our children's minds and souls. I say that with no apologies,
for what we are witnessing today is the moral collapse of a nation,
as it seeks to ruin the minds and lives of millions of its children
through education that is centered on hedonistic social and sexual
chaos and sin.
When I wrote my letter to the newspaper condemning this resolution
of the NEA calling for teachers and schools to remold the minds
of our young children to embrace and accept the homosexual lifestyle
as an equal alternative to heterosexual living, my "blood
boiled." However, in response I was inundated with condemnatory
letters from many of the teachers in our area schools. Who was
I to question this noble cause, to condemn the life style of sodomites,
especially young ones who through no fault of their own were just
naturally pursuing their inherited tendencies? Two Rochester,
Minnesota school teachers even went on to instruct me in what
the Bible really had to say about life and issues. I tell you,
I surely struck a nerve, but one I am glad I "twanged."
Friend the seduction of society and now even our children should
alarm you! For we are in a cultural war as Pat Buchanan cried
out at a previous presidential party convention. A war that the
prize is the heart, soul, mind and body of our children. And,
if we do not rise up to stand against this, we may well not only
lose the next generation to truth and a future, we may lose their
souls for all eternity.
Now this idea of recognizing "gays and Lesbians" with
an awareness month is precisely the issue we need to question.
The school teachers and their labor organization the NEA, want
desperately to promote homosexuality as a legitimate alternative
lifestyle that is to be not only protected, but promoted in our
society today. But as Christians we must stand against this and
speak out and resist all attempts at such public efforts. Why?
Let me give you some tangible reasons and hopefully dispel the
myths being propagated today. First of all homosexuality is not
something the public should tolerate, promote or protect. It is
rather something to shun, resist, curtail and even discipline
those who practice and promote it publicly. Here's why.
The Bible, which has been our Creator's instruction manual since
man first walked the earth, teaches exclusively that heterosexuality
is God's only way for society to live. The Bible says,
Gen 1:27-28 (NIV) "So God created man in his own image, …male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it…"
Gen 2:24 (NIV) "For this reason a man will leave his
father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become
one flesh.".
We see that sex was given a family context from the beginning,
and all sexual relationships were to be between a man and a woman
exclusively. This is brought out by the repeated warnings God
gives again any other sexual relationships. We find in the Bible,
from the earliest days, God condemned the practice of homosexuality,
especially societal approval of it., for we read in,
Lev 18:22, 24 (NIV) ""'Do not lie with a man as
one lies with a woman; that is detestable… 24 "'Do not
defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the
nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled."
Here God tells us that any individual who practices and any society
that approves and promotes homosexuality would be the recipient
of God's divine wrath. We find that God kept His word for He destroyed
the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Listen to the Bible's historical
account.
Jude 1:7 (NIV) "In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire."
2 Pet 2:6 (NIV) "…[God] he condemned the cities
of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them
an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly…"
It is clear that in the Old Testament, God not only condemned
the deviant sexual practice of homosexuality but punished those
who habitually defied God's laws against it by "thumbing
their noses" at God's right for a righteous society among
men. Yes, the ancient land of Canaan was condemned for homosexual
sin. The Mosaic Law condemned homosexuality and even the Old Testament
prophets spoke out against it in obedience to God's instructions
to them (1 Kings 14:24; 15:12; 22:46; 2 Kings 23:7;Lev. 18:22-23).
However, what does the New Testament say? Again, we find that
the Word of God is consistent.
In the Book of Romans, Paul the apostle says these clear and unmistakable
words of condemnation for the societal approval and practice of
homosexuality,
Rom 1:18 (NIV) "The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,"
Rom 1:24-27 (NIV) "Therefore God gave them over in
the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the
degrading of their bodies with one another….. Even their
women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the
same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and
were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent
acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty
for their perversion"…
In addition to this clear condemnation of the practice and open
approval of homosexuality, Paul tells the Corinthian congregation
that those who practice this lifestyle and refuse to change, will
never enter God's eternal kingdom!
1 Cor 6:9 (NIV) "Do you not know that the wicked will
not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the
sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes
nor homosexual offenders … will inherit the kingdom
of God.""
Why even the shepherding pastor of the first century apostolic
led Church of Ephesus was told to preach this to his congregation.
Paul again spoke and said,
1 Tim 1:9-10 (NASB) "[realize] the fact that law is
not made for a righteous man, but for those who are lawless and
rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane,
for those who [are] …. Homosexuals… , and whatever else
is contrary to sound teaching,"
So friend don't let anyone fool you, God's Word in the Old Testament
and the New Testament strongly and clearly condemns the public
acceptance and practice of homosexuality. However, these are not
the only arguments against celebrating Gay and Lesbian Awareness.
Today there are strong moral and social indications of the wrongness
and this deviant sexual practice. For example the following is
a listing of them.
(1) HOMOSEXUALITY IS UNNATURAL! - It is simply
contrary to the use of one's natural sexuality. No one is born
of a homosexual union. Therefore the practice of homosexuality
is contrary to nature ( Rom. 1:26 KJV). In fact, God calls homosexuality
- "unnatural, degrading, a lie, perversion and a shameful
lust"(Rom. 1:18-27).
(2) HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT INHERITED! - Many teach
today that those who practice homosexuality do so by nature of
an inherited tendency. However, this is a repeated lie that cannot
be substantiated. There is no undisputed scientific evidence to
support this. None whatsoever! People are recruited into this
movement and taught to perform homosexual acts. That's the most
insidious danger to our young people today by the way. This is
why God condemns it. It only occurs when someone "abandons,"
his or her natural inclinations ( Rom. 1:26-27). The Bible teaches
we all inherit a sin nature, but we are still responsible for
sinning ( Ezek .18:4; Psa. 51:4; Eph 2:3).
(3) HOMOSEXUALITY CANNOT BE JUSTIFIED BY MUTUAL CONSENT
OR THE RIGHT OF PRIVACY - Mutual consent does not justify
an evil act. Two people can consent to break the law, but that
does not justify it. God's Word and a moral society say we have
an obligation to each other and to our Creator who has commanded
us, not to abuse our bodies, nor create an unwholesome society
that breaks down the family unit. Secondly, the right of privacy
is not excuse for this sinful practice either. Nobody's right
of privacy extends to unethical activity. No one has the private
right to kill, rape, murder or destroy another's body. Reason
demands that an immoral activity does not become moral by simply
"moving the location." Why even the reverse is true.
Wholesome and good as marital sex is, it becomes unethical and
even unlawful when practiced in public.
(4) HOMOSEXUALITY HAS NO RIGHTS! - Yes, think about
it. Homosexual have rights as citizens and we should all defend
this, but not as homosexuals. Homosexual acts are morally wrong.
There is no right to do wrong. Neither is there any civil rights
to do a moral wrong. Such an idea is ludicrous! If we speak of
homosexual rights, then it is just as reasonable to speak of rapist's
rights, murderer's rights, and child molester's rights. Homosexuality
is a moral and civil wrong and civil law must never encourage
or approve what is morally wrong. So homosexuals have rights as
citizen's to uphold a decent society and live according to its
moral foundation, but when they practice of homosexuality and
prey on the lives of others in solicitation, manipulation, and
other corruptive methodology - then their rights as citizens should
be abrogated to public discipline.
(5) HOMOSEXUALITY IS A THREAT TO THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND
WELFARE OF ALL SOCIETAL LIFE! - Every society of man depends
for its existence on the promotion and propagation of healthy
and sustained heterosexual relations. Thus heterosexuality is
absolutely essential to the continuance of the human race. Without
it we become extinct. Yet, some argue that not everyone will abandon
it, therefore homosexuality is not a threat. However, if homosexuality
is an acceptable societal behavior, then it must be acceptable
to all, not just a few. And, if all practice it society is destroyed
and ceases to exist. What's more, every society is endangered
by the practice of homosexuality because of the present threat
to our lives. You see AIDS and other related STDS today are here
and continues to be here because of the practice of homosexuality.
Statistics shows that within the next 25 years millions will die
form this deadly disease of sodomy. Unless homosexuality is publicly
outlawed and curtailed, this threat will increase and devastate
all societies of man that approve and promote it.
(6) HOMOSEXUALITY UNCHALLENGED, WILL BRING THE JUDGMENT OF GOD! - In every single case of history, every society that publicly embraced, accepted and promoted homosexuality - we find that it destroyed them morally, spiritually and socially. Canaan, Sodom & Gomorrah, Greece, even Rome suffered societal destruction because of the unrestrained practice of homosexuality. What's worse, God warns every society that turns from His Word against it and promotes it - likewise will be destroyed. Listen to God,
Prov 14:34 (NIV) "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people."
Psa 9:17 (NIV) "The wicked return to the grave, all the nations that forget God."
Jude 1:7 (NIV) "In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah
and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality
and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the
punishment of eternal fire."
Friend, it matters not how kind practicing homosexuals are. It
matters not how contributory they may have been society wise as
to the arts and science. It matters not how emotionally wrought
they are due to societies rejection of their lifestyles. We cannot
condone, approve and permit the practice of homosexuality in our
society, nor ever allow it t be promoted as something neutral
or equal to heterosexuality in society or our schools. We must
speak out, we must stand up, we must condemn, and we must lawfully
discipline where appropriate any and all public immorality according
to these principles and laws God has given us. The NEA and its
support for homosexuality is a disgrace to humanity, and more
the teaching profession. You should contact your school boards
and question your children's teachers to find out if they too
are promoters of this societal chaos and sin. If so, you should
reprimand them and ask them to cease such promotions of tolerance,
acceptance and return to the principles of the Judeo-Christian
ethic that brought the greatness of our society for the past 200
years.
In addition, it goes without saying, Christians and non-Christians
alike must never persecute, nor deny the civil rights of any citizen,
unless they practice and promote that which is injurious and morally
wrong for humanity and the societies we form. Lastly, I want to
say this. Since homosexuality is a sin against God, and condemned
by God, we know God never condemns sin without offering an escape
from it ( 1 Cor 10:13). Everyone caught in the lifestyle of sodomy
is promised by God, a sure and certain deliverance from it, if
… they will confess such sin, and call upon Christ to cleanse
them by His death for them on the Cross. The Bible says,
Phil 4:13 (NIV) "I can do everything through him [Christ] who gives me strength."
Col 1:13 (NIV) "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,"
1 John 1:7 (NIV) "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, …the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin."
1 John 1:9 (NIV) "If we confess our sins, he is faithful
and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
Yes, the homosexual can experience forgiveness of his or her sins,
and can be delivered from the snare of its practice. The key to
this deliverance is mandatory repentance, and acceptance of the
Lordship and Saviorhood of Christ. May God give all of us, whatever
portion of strength we need -- either to come out from this wicked
sin, or to stand up against it before an approving world, or to
rescue our children from its insidious promotion by our public
schools and teachers approval and promotion of it. This I pray
in Jesus name, Amen…
… Friend, I know this message will enflame many, causing
me to get some of the most angry and vilifying mail. But I have
spoken as God's servant, declared the truth of God's Word and
set before you the principles of logic and reason. Now it's your
turn to respond. I trust if you are not a Christian that you consider
the claims of Christ and His warnings to all who flaunt His right
to rule the world He created. There is coming a day when the world
will be judged, not by our majority consent, nor by our societal
law, but the highest law, the Word of God, and on that day only
those who surrendered to it, through Christ, will stand. I trust
you will be among the righteous on that day.
