“What is man? WELL ACCORDING TO THE LATEST AND BRIGHTEST MINDS OF EVOLUTIONARY SCIENTISTS, WE ARE SIMPLY THE PRODUCT OF RANDOM MUTANT GENES!”

…Recently, the news has been full of interesting stories about supposedly new discoveries in the quest to find the missing link that connects apes and man. Desperately, evolutionary scientists are trying hard to find some clue that shows how the ape turned into a man. A most recent article that hit news stories surfaced of a startling find that may link modern man to his ancestral ape relatives. Is this true, has science unlocked the mystery of evolution? The answer will follow after we pause one more time for another moment of music. Then I’ll return to give you a handle on what really is happening in the world of molecular biology. But first, let’s listen to this…

… It flashed across the news recently with joyous glee from the evolutionary community of science. It appears some research scientists working on unraveling the mystery of the DNA molecule have discovered a “mutant” gene that they say “may” explain the change of apes into intelligent man. Published in the March 25, 2004 issue of “NATURE,” PENN Medicine researchers have found one small gene mutation they say, began the process of unleashing an ape’s heavy jaw muscles, thus enabling their brains to enlarge and as the French would say, “voila” out rolled a new species call homo sapiens or modern man.

I tell you when I read this and researched what was discovered, it took my breath away! Wow! Just to think I’m here today because of a freak accident of nature, where a “mutant” gene created the genius and abilities of modern man! Now anthropologists have long debated how humans evolved from ape ancestors with larger jaw muscles and smaller brains. Now they say, the newly discovered mutant gene on the DNA molecule is responsible for it all! How thankful we must all be that mutant genes have so improved the animal kingdom to bring us mankind. Perhaps the best to describe this new find, is to call it “MONKEY BUSINESS!”  

You see my friend, what these evolutionists, desperate to find some link between man and apes, don’t say has much bearing on the true credibility of such finds as well as their integrity.

First of all let’s state some facts.  The DNA molecule is that which stores specific information for the formation of life. In other words, the DNA molecule is the blueprint, plans, and contractor which assembles all life as we know it. This molecule stores specific information by lining up four intricate chemical compounds in very specific order much like Morse Code with its three symbols: dots, dashes and a space, to convey a specific message. The order in which these chemicals are arranged determines the characteristics of all life, as well as what that life will grow into, be it a fruit fly or intelligent man.

For a decade or more, biochemists have worked feverishly to map the DNA codes of human beings to find out how and why life evolved as it supposedly has. The recent discovery of a “mutant gene” known as “MYOSIN” or MYH16 on chromosome 7 is, these researchers say, “what makes humans different from other primates.”

So, according to the minds of these bright doctors, a mutant gene that singularly appeared over the course of millions of years, enabled apes to become human beings. “Boy,” what an extrapolation of twisted minds! To make this news story a fairy tale of renown, another surfaced concerning mutant genes that give us an even better fairy tale.

Scientists at Stanford University in California last year discovered another mutant gene common to mammals that may have changed the destiny of humanity. Now they are not saying this gene transformed us from monkeys to man, but they say it did something just as good. Richard Klein an anthropologist at Stanford University told reporters that 50,000 years ago, due to another newly discovered “mutant gene,” behavior in evolving man changed dramatically. “There was a biological change, a genetic mutation of some kind that promoted the fully modern ability to create and innovate.” In other words, man began to have the “ability to create things like jewelry, fine art, even manufacturing styles and different cultures.”  Thus, mutant genes sparked the culture and art of humanity! Really now!

What we are learning today then is you and I, well we are nothing more than the product of a DNA junk yard of broken down and ruined DNA codes, that by chance mutated into the wonders of humanity we enjoy today. How far and how ridiculous must we go to explain evolution?

However, what these desperate evolutionists don’t tell you is this.

All mutations, save a few, on the DNA molecule of life are essentially harmful and destructive! Why? Well mutations are mistakes made during the transfer of information from the genes of one generation to the next. For instance, birth defects are the result of mutant genes in the DNA blueprint of reproducing life. Evolutionists postulate that for a species of mammals to change, mutations must occur and all such occurrences must be good and beneficial to make positive intricate changes.

The truth is, more than 100 years of intense experimentation and research on mutant genes has shown that mutations almost always ruin the life copy rather than improve it. Therefore, the belief that mutations can slowly change an animal into some other creature, is akin to believing that by dropping a box of metal scraps off a cliff that when it reaches the bottom a Roll Royce automobile appears. Since mutations always subtract or leave out information on the DNA molecule, they cannot ever provide a source of new information to construct a new improved creature! It just is not possible under any extrapolations of thought and deduction. All this is “monkey business,” at its worst!

Now, the question is, how can we account for the missing information brought about by the mutant gene, MYOSIN? The answer is simple. The creator of all life, the God of the Bible fashioned everything after His glorious plan of Creation. Naturally, for any living creature to exist and live on planet earth, they all would have to have similarities of design and function. However when God made mankind, a unique creature fashioned distinctively and uniquely after Himself, God coded the DNA molecule to have only that which would enable man to be man! Surely, a distinct code without that which enabled monkeys to have tremendous jaw power, and not needing a brain capacity that man would need, would receive a DNA code to produce that. Man didn’t need it, so man was created without it.

Now scientist today admit through additional studies, the discovered mutant gene is they say, an inherited “muscle” disease and is found in ALL, I repeat, “ALL” human beings, but not in the DNA of non-human primates. Naturally, this goes to show that man is man and always has been man, and monkeys are monkeys, except for such conclusions as these, which appears to be the real “MONKEY BUSINESS,” gone awry.

No my friend, it’s still best to believe God’s Word that tells us of our origins. The Bible says,

Gen 1:1 (NIV)  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Gen 1:26-27 (NIV)  Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

No one friend, has ever come up with any proof or link in an evolutionary guesswork of life to show differently from what the Word of God tells us. Moreover, the very fact that man is so distinct from all other creatures in life, testifies to the fact that our intrinsic brilliance, abilities, and characteristics that make us mankind, reflect the imprimatur of a super intelligent Being who wrote the code that made us and produced the human beings we are today. Have you recognized the fact that you are a “created” being? No amount of supposed evolution could have ever possibly occurred to produce an ape or man, or any other life for that matter. Do you realize our very design discovered in the DNA coding is no accident nor could ever be? The truth is all life, even the most simple found today, and in the fossil record, are irreducibly complex and could never have evolved! 

Dr. Michael Behe, biology professor at Lehigh University states, “even at the smallest biochemical level, life is made up of irreducibly complex machines.” Although these life machines are made of protein rather than metal, there complexity is sure proof that they could only have been produced by an incomprehensibly intelligent designer, and that my friend is God the Creator of the Bible.

Now the question we face is who is this Creator? Can we know Him, does He care about us? My friend, the answer is yes! God cares about you for He created you. Want to know why? Well here’s the answer from the Word of God,

Deu 32:6 (NIV)  “… your Father, your Creator… made you and formed you.”

Isa 43:1 (NIV)  “ But now, this is what the LORD says-- he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel : "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”

Here we discover two important things. You and I were created as human being, distinctly for the purpose of God’s special and personal ownership. This shows us we have a purpose, and we are here because of God’s desire and love to “make us His own possession.” Moreover, we discover,

Psa 145:15-16 (NLT) “ All eyes look to you for help; you give them their food as they need it. 16 When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.”

1 Tim 6:17 (NIV)  “… God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

Indeed, God created us and all creatures because He loves us. He feeds us, provides all things for is to enjoy and experience. It’s a wonderful truth to behold and embrace. You and I, we are here because of the GREAT DESIGNER GOD who fashioned us to not only live on the earth, but to have the ability to commune with the Creator Himself. Now the great question is can we know Him? Has He made a way for us to seek and find Him? The answer again is a resounding yes!

Listen to the Bible that tells us,

Deu 4:29 (NIV)  But if…  you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.

 Yes, God promises us, whether we are living in a jungle tribe or walking the streets of modern cities, all mankind can come to know, experience and love the God who created us. Now still, the question is who is He? Are you ready? Well, here is the answer…

John 1:1-3 (NIV)  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

John 1:14 (NIV)  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Col 1:16-18 (NIV)  For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

John 3:16-17 (NIV)  “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Well there you have it. The Bible tells us an intelligent designer made all things. This is why there is such similarity among all living creatures and life. Yet, God made all creatures distinct and there would be no macro evolution between the species. The Bible tells us His highest and best and most intricate creation was to fashion a human body and then to give that body a portion of His very own life to energize it. Indeed, you and I, we are the stamped image of God. This is why, unlike any other creature, we have intelligence and are gifted with language, so we can communicate.

Most important of all, God gave us the ability to communicate with Him. Have you? Have you called upon the Lord God to visit your heart and soul and reveal Himself to you? God has done that with everyone who has become a Christian. For when we turn away from our sinful rejection of Him and His creation, that is vainly trying to explain life without an intelligent designer, God will met us and offer His love, care and fellowship. Right now, God is greatly offended by man’s rejection of Him.  This rejection called evolution is also under God’s judgment. The Bible tells us about this in,

Rom 1:21-27 (NIV)  For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

Rom 6:23 (NIV)  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God warns sinful fallen man, that to continue in rebellion to God’s right to rule His created universe and creatures, will bring the penalty of eternal death in a celestial penitentiary called Hell or the Lake of Fire . Yet, God loves us enough to help us avoid this place of judgment. So God sent His Son Jesus Christ, the Creator of all matter, life and living, to become our substitute payment for our sins. Again the Bible says,

1 Cor 15:1-4 (NIV)  “Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance : that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”

Yes, the Gospel of Christianity is Good News! As created beings, we are accountable to the Creator for life and living and eternity too. As such, God has given us His Word, the Bible, to help us get a hold of His great love, care and provision. Have you grabbed hold of it? You see, all is found in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. For all who embrace Christ, and turn their lives over to His care and keeping, they alone will be saved from the wrath of God to come upon a Christ rejecting world.

Evolution is just the blind eye of sinners desperately trying to avoid thinking about their obligations to the Creator, to love Him, serve Him and live for Him as we once were created for. But in vain do they close their eyes, and in the stupidity of foolishness they fashion ideas of origins that simply cannot stand in reality. Better my friend to believe God and His Word than the foolishness of sin laden souls. Hear God’s Word once again,

John 3:16 (NIV)  “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Grab hold of it and embrace the Savior of man, Jesus Christ and you will be saved now and for eternity. That dear listener is no monkey business!
