"THIS WEEK MARKS THE 33rd YEAR OF LIFE DENIED TO A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF OUR NATION'S PEOPLE. BY THE EDICT OF THE U.S. SUPREME COURT, THE MURDER OF MORE THAN 47 MILLION AMERICANS HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT!"

 I’m Dennis Finnan, host and speaker on the WWY Broadcast and in a moment we’ll talk about the Sanctity of life Sunday observed this weekend throughout America …

…Should abortion be legal in this country? That question now for 33 years has dogged the American public to the point most people, on both sides of the issue are tired of hearing about it. However, regardless of whether we are tired or not, the gravity of this event and the ongoing ruthlessness and reckless towards human life must be addressed. So today friend, it's time you had opportunity to just "look at the facts!" Never mind the religious and moral issue, What you need to know is the newly compiled FACTS ABOUT ABORTION, so you can make up your own mind ¾ not on what was said 20 years ago, but what we KNOW today ¾ for if you do, you will find some eye opening truths to ponder. But before I give you the FACTS, real substantial, hard evidence both sides must admit to, I want to set the tone for today's message entitled: CHOOSE LIFE, by listening to this delightful musical moment…

…Now I said I would not go into detail presenting the religious and moral issue surrounding abortion, but suffice it to say God and His Word have spoken and you need to hear quickly what He said. The Word of God stated to Noah when he stepped out into the new world after the global flood,

Gen 9:5-6 (NLT)  “… murder is forbidden. Animals that kill people must die, and any person who murders [another] must be killed. 6 Yes, you must execute anyone who murders another person, for to kill a person is to kill a living being made in God’s image."

God said to Moses for the nation of Israel to live by,

Exo 20:13 (NLT)  “”Do not murder.”

Exo 21:22-23 (NLT)  “”Now suppose two people are fighting, and in the process, they hurt a pregnant woman so her child is born prematurely. If no further harm results, then the person responsible must pay damages in the amount the woman’s husband demands and the judges approve. 23 But if any harm results, then the offender must be punished according to the injury. If the result is death, the offender must be executed."

In the latter verse quoted, God required capital punishment under the Law of Moses for causing a fatal miscarriage. So later the Psalmist rightfully declared about life in the womb of a human being,

Psa 139:14-16 (NLT)  “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—and how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”

Jeremiah the prophet by divine inspiration wrote these marvelous words, spoken by God,

 Jer 1:5 (NLT)  “”I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my spokesman to the world.””

And, Job the oldest of prophets recorded in the Bible,

Job 10:10-12 (NLT)  “You guided my conception and formed me in the womb. 11 You clothed me with skin and flesh, and you knit my bones and sinews together. 12 You gave me life and showed me your unfailing love. My life was preserved by your care.”

Indeed NO ONE, yes, no one who claims to believe in God, can have the audacity to claim that an unborn child from the moment of conception is not human life! To do so, is to call God a liar, and His Word false! So with that set before us, we KNOW that the moral and spiritual issue of allowing abortion is wrong, sinful and will one day be judged by the Almighty Creator God Himself.  But now are there others issues to consider as we move into the 21^st century? The answer is yes! Regardless of whether you are a Christian or religious person at all ¾ one can no longer hide under the guise of words that Supreme Court Justice Blackman wrote in the 93^rd Supreme Court 705 (1973) when he said,

"We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins. When those trained in the respective disciplines of medicine, philosophy and theology are unable to arrive at any consensus, the judiciary ... is not in a position to speculate as to the answer."

In 1973 the Supreme Court said it did not need to resolve the issue of when life begins because nobody really knew. However in those 33 years, knowledge has radically changed. Here then are FACTS you need to know, and FACTS that you cannot ignore or deny. The only thing you can do with them is believe them and respond positively to them, or refuse to accept them not by unbelief, but by rank disobedience to truth and go on in the infamy of approving abortion and the destruction it continues to produce today. Here then are the FACTS:

FACT #1 - MORE THAN 47 MILLION CHILDREN HAVE BEEN DESTROYED BY THE ACT OF ABORTION SINCE 1973! 

One just has to count up the known deaths on record. Yes, the Annual Number of Abortions are as follows:

Keep in mind, these are conservative figures because full records are not always kept or are available. But, here are the FACTS of the lives destroyed by abortion! There is no wonder why today we have such a shortage in the work force, why in future days we will not have enough workers paying into Social Security to support those moving toward retirement today.

FACT #2 - HUMAN LIFE WITHIN THE MOTHER'S WOMB HAS NOW BEEN SUBSTANTIATED TO BEGIN AT CONCEPTION AND IS QUITE MEASURABLE JUST 18 DAYS AFTER CONCEPTION! -  

At this point after conception, the baby's heart is already fully formed and beating… at six weeks, the brain waves can be measured… at 8 weeks, the stomach, liver, kidneys, and brain are fully functioning. Why even fingerprints have formed… And do you know what?  Almost 800,000 abortions are done each year in America , "AFTER" this measurable point of affirming human life in a woman's pregnancy! In addition, and overwhelming majority of  “Physicians, biologists, and other scientists agree that conception (they defined fertilization and conception to be the same) marks the beginning of a human being--a being that is alive and is a member of the human species. Moreover, there is overwhelming agreement on this point in countless medical, biological, and scientific writings.”( Report, Subcommittee on Separation of Powers to Senate Judiciary Committee S-158, 97 Congress, 1st Session 1981, p. 7. )   

So, no one today can honestly, factually and intelligently say the fetus in a mother's womb is not yet human life! It has been proven beyond a scientific doubt!

FACT #3 - WOMAN CAN LEGALLY ABORT THEIR UNBORN CHILD AT ANY TIME THROUGHOUT THEIR ENTIRE NINE MONTHS OF PREGNANCY!  

Planned Parenthood in its propaganda "Pro-Choice Debate Handbook," states "in almost all cases a woman cannot get an abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy.." Yet, according to the Supreme Court's ruling on the same day as the Roe vs. Wade decision,(01/27/73) the Doe vs. Bolton Court proceeding held that babies may be aborted (killed) until the day they leave the womb! In 1988, there were at least 187,714 abortions in the second and third trimesters—at least 15,908 abortions occurred after 20 weeks (the child is now five months old). This, has led to the most heinous destruction of human life for late term pregnancies called ¾ PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION. "Partial Birth Abortion (also referred to as “Brain Suction” or “D & X” Abortion), is a procedure performed in the second and third trimester. An alive, healthy and kicking baby is taken out of the womb, leaving only his or her head inside the cervix. As the infamous Ohio abortionist, Martin Haskell, describes: “The surgeon then forces his scissors into the base of the skull. Having safely entered the skull, he spreads the scissors to enlarge the opening. The surgeon . . . introduces a suction catheter into his hole punctured in the skull and evacuates the brain contents.” The then "dead" baby is fully delivered meeting the requirements of a legal abortion. How gruesome and grotesque a procedure invented by a human being! Partial Birth abortion today is used exclusively for "birth control."

FACT #4 -  CHILD ABUSE HAS INCREASED OVER 1000% SINCE ABORTION WAS LEGALIZED IN 1973! 

The cry to legalize abortion was to "decrease" child abuse by keeping women from having unwanted babies! But this theory was disproved by scientific studies as well as the obvious evidence that child abuse has sharply increased since abortion became legal. In fact, the newest studies show that Post-abortion  Syndrome, a newly discovered trauma that follows women who have abortions, shows that abortion "lowered a parent's psychic resistance to violence and the abuse of the born." ¾ ("Relationships Between Abortion & Child-abuse, " Canada Journal of Psychiatry, Col 24, 1979, pp 610-620) 

Abortion now shows a clear link with increased depression, violent behavior, alcohol and drug abuse, child neglect and abuse!

FACT #5 - THE ABORTION INDUSTRY HAS NOW TURNED TO THE DEPRAVED WORK OF TRAFFICKING IN ABORTED CHILDREN' S BODY & ORGAN PARTS!  

 Do you think this is fantasy? Think again. In 1999, the U.S. Congress in learning of this gruesome business, and officially investigated reports of this new horror story that involves the cutting up and selling of aborted infant body parts. One company named, "OPENING LINES," who abruptly vacated its offices in West Frankfurt, Illinois, when this issue was exposed, had already compiled a sales sheet as follows: "Opening Lines charged $ 100 for skin; $ 150 for a liver; $ 325 for spinal cords, $ 500 for a trunk ( with or without limbs); and $ 999 for a brain ( with a 30% discount for fragmented brains)." What's more, the National Institutes of Health reveals at their website, that the federal government itself is involved in this ghastly trade.

Yet oddly enough, the National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act of 1993 made it a federal felony for any person to "knowingly" for 'valuable consideration' purchase or sell the organs and bodies of aborted children. But now the tide turns. Do you know that the National Institute of Health has proposed new federal regulations that would sanction the destruction of human life for “progressive” research purpose? Under the new NIH guidelines, federally funded researchers would be allowed to deliberately destroy human embryos in order to harvest “stem cells.” This means that  ¾ "We the taxpayers could be forced in the near future to fund the destruction and sale of Human Embryos!"  Well friends, it's going on and the lid has just been uncovered. How sick, unconscionable and evil is the abortion industry and its antics!

FACT #6 - WOMEN WHO HAVE ABORTIONS PLACE THEIR PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL LIVES IN SERIOUS PERIL! 

The abortion industry tries to tell women that having an abortion is safe and without risk.  Never, is a woman who comes to an abortion clinic to have one, ever told of the factual consequences of such procedures and aftermath situations. For instance, the leading cause of abortion related deaths are hemorrhage, infection, embolism, anesthesia, and undiagnosed ectopic pregnancies. Legal abortion now is reported as the 5^th  leading cause of maternal death in the United States ! What's more women who undergo abortions are more likely to suffer a higher risk of breast cancer which doubles after one abortion, and rises further with two or more abortions.

Then if this doesn't get the woman, she is at serious risk of cervical, ovarian and liver cancer! Women with one abortion face a 2.3 relative risk of getting these cancers and with two or more abortions the risk rises to 4.92! Women who have abortions are also at risk to suffer uterine perforation injury by the surgery. But there's more! Then she is also in danger of Cervical lacerations, Placenta Previa, and contracting Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, a life threatening disease that can lead to the increased risk of ectopic pregnancy and reduced fertility. No woman is EVER told of these risks, and yet FACTS today show these tremendous risks are being experienced by women who opt for abortions.

In addition, there is the emotional trauma a woman suffers called Post Abortion Syndrome (PAS). After having an abortion many women begin the symptoms ¾ guilt is ever present in many guises, along with regret, remorse, shame, lowered self-esteem, insomnia, dreams, nightmares, flashbacks, and negative anniversary reactions. There is often hostility and even hatred, toward men. Following this often there is sexual dysfunction, crying, despair, depression and even at times suicide attempts! These are REAL happenings being documented more and more as the murder of babies goes on! Amazingly, the American Psychological Association says that PAS doesn't exist. Not so oddly this group is vehemently Pro-abortion and thus their blindness to consider to study the FACTS.

Well… there you have just some of the FACTS that today have accompanied the terrible destruction of human life woman have engaged in for 33 years with the U.S. government's approval. Mind you, one cannot escape the consequences of God in the destruction of human life. This should cause all Americans, religious or not to begin rethinking the issue of a so-called "Woman's Choice." If we say a woman has the right to choose to let her baby live or not, what right does the unborn life have? About half of the unborn are female! Does that young female life have a right to life? If not, why not? You can no longer say, the unborn growth in a mother's womb is just a blob of protoplasm and not human life. Listen to this true story,

" few years ago, Robert George of Princeton university debated abortion at a convention of the American Political Science Association. His opponent was the well-known deconstructionist Stanley Fish. Fish in previous publications dismissed arguments against abortion and argued the case FOR abortion is based on scientific facts! Well, Robert George, before the convention, sent Fish his paper supporting that the case against abortion is soundly based on present scientific facts. When the debate came. Fish got up and shocked the audience beyond belief by stating, "Professor George is right, and he is right to correct me. Today the Pro-life position is supported by scientific evidence." The audience of learned professors and atheists sat in stunned silence.”  Chuck Colson gave this report in one of his Breakpoint essays back in the year 1999, for which I am grateful. (Breakpoint Commentary # 90908 - 09-08-99 )

The point is today ¾ NO ONE can take the position that PRO-CHOICE, is a valid scientific concept. On the contrary, today, the PRO-LIFE position is the ONLY valid SCIENTIFICALLY supported position. Now remember Justice Blackman's statement written in the 93^rd Supreme Court 705 ( 1973)?

"We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins. When those trained in the respective disciplines of medicine, philosophy and theology are unable to arrive at any consensus, the judiciary ... is not in a position to speculate as to the answer."

Well today those "trained in the disciplines" of medicine, philosophy and theology are NOW ABLE TO arrive at a consensus! LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION, AND EVERY FETUS IN THE WOMB OF ITS HUMAN MOTHER IS A VALID HUMAN LIFE!

Therefore, it's time our courts need to rethink the Roe vs. Wade decision, and if they are impotent and unworthy to do so , it is time for our CONGRESS to pass a new law protecting ALL LIFE as our forefathers wrote in the American Constitution. 

And… barring our doing any of this, I believe like our past President Abraham Lincoln, that America will some day have to pay not only "for every strike of any whip on the back of any slave," but for every one of the 47 MILLION CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN KILLED BY AMERICA'S APPROVAL!

The graveyards of history are filled with those who thought they could get away with injustice, murder and violence simply because they passed a law to permit it. Consider ancient Babylon , the Roman Empire , the Third Reich ¾ must America be next? Well friend, it's the 21^st century, and now its time to turn away from the evils of abortion and return to choosing life for all! May God so bless this to your heart today…

…May we Christians stand up and as never before, call for, no demand that our government address this issue once and for all. Yes, abortion is a single political issue that merits our strongest attention. Anyone who can't support all human life isn't worthy of standing before us as our leaders! Let us be vocal, personal, and let us stand up for the innocent unborn life continuing to die all around us. Now some advocate violence as a means of resisting it. But, violence is not the way as some have taken to stop abortion.

True Christians must oppose any form of violence done in the name of the Pro-life cause! We believe Pro-life means just that and is the antithesis of violence. But… we must not be silent, nor impotent. We must fight for the right of all life, especially unborn life, and we must never stop till God delivers our nation from this terrible sin. May God grant us such grace in this new millennium, for Jesus sake. Amen.
