THE 21st CENTURY HOLOCAUST

The World, the Word & You! Broadcast
Commentary by Dennis L. Finnan

“THIS WEEK REMEMBERS THE INFAMY OF THE PAST 28 YEARS THAT GAVE US THE WORLD’S GREATEST HOLOCAUST, THE DESTRUCTION OF UNBORN HUMAN LIFE.”

I’m Dennis Finnan, host and speaker on The World, the Word & You! Broadcast and in a moment we’ll talk about the 28th anniversary of America’s terrible decision to destroy innocent human life…

…Hello listening friends, and welcome again to another broadcast edition of the World the Word & You! I’m Dennis Finnan your host and speaker thanking you for joining us today.  Our program comes to you by the kindness and care of friends like you who listen each week to our broadcasts. We thank God for your prayers and assistance in keeping us on the air.

Well, here we are in the 21st century and our radio programming has likewise reached its 21st anniversary year of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to our nation and the world.

May God continue to give us a voice until He calls us home or steps in in judgment against the sins of our world and particularly our nation. Yes, I said our nation ¾ for this week remembers the 28th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision of the United States that made abortion on demand legal everywhere in the United States of America. Each year since then, more than one and a half million little unborn American children have been severed from their mother’s womb and ruthlessly killed by the abortionist’s knife. Yet surprisingly, as more science and information surfaces about life in the womb, we as a nation have become more callous and unconcerned to make any changes in the infamy of these established killing fields all across the nation. Well, after we pause to hear this moment of music, I’ll return with what I believe is today’s answer in remembrance of this great world Holocaust. Stay tuned…

… Recently, I came across an anonymous poem that speaks volumes to the issue of abortion that was legalized 28 years ago this week. Permit me to quote it for you now…

“Who are these children not yet born,

from Mother’s wombs so cruelly torn?

Each one is a gift from God above.

What crimes or offenses were they guilty of?

Did they perhaps get in someone’s way,

these helpless victims of America’s moral decay,

Carried to their death While still in the womb?

Nevertheless, they merit neither headstone nor tomb!

Millions of them have been killed,

Their human adventure forever stilled,

Cut down like weeds, before their birth,

Never to marvel at God’s beautiful earth.,

How cold and ruthless has man become,

That he’d slay his own daughter or son!

To what Hellish depths have we sunk, as a Nation,

to allow this destruction of God’s precious creation?”

                                                                                               ¾ Anonymous

How sad but true are these words that speak of the bloodstained hands of America. Although abortion remains a controversial issue, it is not an issue anymore to be debated as to its evil and sin before God. Clearly abortion is the wanton, callous, cruel, violent and brutal killing of innocent children that the Creator God condemns, and warns He will fiercely judge in the coming days ahead! However today, I do not want to again “prove” that the unborn in the womb of a mother is precious human life. That issue, has long ago, been established by the scientific and medical world beyond any doubt. No, today I want to talk about where we are going with our love of abortion, and what’s the issue for the 21st century. But first let’s listen to this…

…As one looks back to the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize infanticide, the killing of innocent children, the face of ethical issues has completely changed. No longer debated is the issue, “is an unborn child human life?” The question when life begins is no longer the key issue for science itself has established “human life begins at the moment of conception!” If so, why then do abortionists and their supporters still carry out this evil act of murder? Well, the question has now moved to whether “any unborn children in a mother’s womb have any intrinsic rights and whether the mother’s rights are more important!” Pro-abortionists and their political party the Democrats no longer debate the issue that a “fetus” is or is not a living human being. Now, the fierce issue is ¾ what if any rights do the unborn have?  Is a mother’s rights and desire greater than any right of life in the womb?

Today the anti-life, pro-abortion group cries out, “ Yes, abortion is the taking of life. We admit that now, and it is sad and unfortunate. However, women who are pregnant have a greater right to decide whether to allow the unborn in their womb to live or not, for it’s a woman’s choice!” This friend is the new issue for the 21st century. Yes we’ve all heard that phrase – “The Right to Choose,” as if this was some constitutional right. But the question is the “Right to Choose what?” Once a woman gets pregnant, she already has a new life, a child. The choice is what does she do with him or her? Does she allow this unborn life to life or die?

The fact remains America has chosen for over 28 years now to kill more than 40 million of its unborn children since 1973. That means over 4,400 children a day are murdered all across America as women “choose” to kill their children before they are born. At least 30% of all pregnancies are now ended by abortion. For unmarried women, the figure more than doubles ¾ 63% of pregnancies of unmarried women are aborted. For teenagers, 41-46% of pregnancies are aborted. More over, almost 50% of all abortions are repeat abortions, and according to pro-abortion Dr. Irvin Cushner of UCLA Medical school in a testimony before a Senate Subcommittee he stated, “98% of all abortions are done because woman do not wish to be pregnant at this particular time.” Now for you to gain a perspective of these grim statistics. The murderous killing death of America’s unborn children is greater that all the American War casualties suffered in our nation’s entire history! But what does all this mean?

Let’s face it people today are tired of the jargon from both sides. I believe ears have become deaf to truth and facts, but one thing is sure. No one can become deaf to the Word of God! We are given no such ability, opportunity or privilege. Listen to what God says about the proclamation of His Word to all sinners…

Heb 4:12-13 (NIV)  “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

You see, God tells us that when He speaks, although we can refuse to obey, we cannot refuse to hear in our hearts what God has to say, and we cannot ever turn off the truth God’s speaks to us. All we can do is close our minds, and simply refuse to respond positively to it. Therefore, I believe we Christians today must keep up the proclamation of God’s Word on this issue of abortion. Now what does God say about a woman’s right to kill her unborn child? Hear the Word of God:

Gen 1:1 (NIV)  “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Gen 1:27 (NIV)  “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

Exo 20:13 (NIV)  “”You shall not murder.”

Psa 139:13-16 (NIV)  “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Isa 44:24 (NIV)  “”This is what the LORD says—your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself,”

Jer 1:5 (NIV)  “”Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.””

Col 1:16 (NIV)  “For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.”

Deu 30:19 (NIV)  “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live”

Clearly no man or woman, nor court of law, can ever legislate abortion as a right to take innocent human life simply for the sake of personal convenience or choice! God says that abortion is murder, and the killing fields of America and the world are therefore one of the greatest holocausts of our time. Hitler’s Holocaust of murdering the Jews, began by declaring them non-persons by law, so that executing them was legal and socially moral. But Hitler’s ovens and gas chambers are nothing compared to the murderous, violent and brutal killing fields of today’s abortion clinics staffed by Planned Parenthood and others like them. Oh but mind you, God keeps account, and His Word promises that He will one day bring a horrific judgment on all who have so callously ignored the sanctity of human life.

So, for this Day of Judgment, we must prepare, and for this we must confess we as a nation will deserve every last effect of God’s wrath against this sin of murdering our children. You know, in the days of the Old Testament a nation of people committed violent acts of brutal abortion not dissimilar to today. Hear then what God says,

Amos 1:13 (NIV)  “This is what the LORD says: “For three sins of Ammon, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath. Because he ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to extend his borders,”

How graphically God says, His wrath is against a people who committed the terrible sin of abortion! Why even Jesus Christ Himself said this about little innocent children,

Mat 18:14 (NIV)  “In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.”

Mat 18:10 (NIV)  “”See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.”

God also spoke in the Old Testament about those who perform murderous acts of bloodshed for money,

Deu 27:25 (NLT)  “’Cursed is anyone who accepts payment to kill an innocent person.’ And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’”

Yes, God’s Word tells us that those who perform abortions are no different from a hired killer who murders another for payment. How much more will our abortion clinics, their doctors and those who authorize their existence ¾ suffer the same fate and wrath of God? Moreover, God’s Word reminds us nothing we do whether we declare it legal or not, can pass muster before the sovereign Creator. Scripture warns time and time again,

Heb 4:13 (NIV)  “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

So what’s ahead now for us who still work for and pray for abortion on demand to cease? Well, here is a battle plan I believe all Christians should mount and ride hard into the sunset of God’s coming judgment, for I believe with all my heart it’s too late to stop God’s wrath that rising to the boiling point. Yes, all we can do these days is delay it, so we might have time to win many to Christ and be spared the eternal punishment that will come to all unrepentant sinners… So here is a plan.

1.      WE MUST EARNESTLY PRAY ¾ We must never stop praying for God to intervene in our nation’s conscience so that by law we can overturn the evil Supreme Court decision of 1973. Yes, it will take a constitutional amendment, or a new Supreme Court (?)  Remember, nothing is impossible with God. Friend, will you commit to continue to pray for overturning the Supreme Court’s decision by whatever means?

2. WE MUST ENERGETICALLY SPEAK OUT - We must never stop speaking out about the sinfulness and wrong doing of abortion. Say it, proclaim it, preach it ¾ abortion is murder, the most callous cruel and brutal taking of life ever invented by sinners. Christians must be vocal. Speak out at work, in the newspaper write in columns, talk about it with your neighbors and especially children.

3.      WE MUST ENCOURAGE EDUCATION - We must keep informed as to the changing issues. Today the issue is not is there life in the womb, but is that life worth equal value to the one on whom it depends? Is that life in the womb precious enough to have rights of its own? The answer of course is yes, yes, yes!

4.   WE MUST ENGAGE IN DEBATE - Upon having sufficient knowledge on the issues and facts, we must educate those around us. We must petition school boards and educators that our children must learn that sexual activity outside of marriage is not only sin, but also the major source of evil that fuels abortion. Yes, we will be laughed at, vilified, called ignorant and people of the dark ages, but God will be pleased that His voice is heard among the nation.

5.      WE MUST EXPOSE SO-CALLED RIGHTEOUS USE OF ABORTION – Yes, we must decry the newest use of aborted human babies for medical research. Although some good may come of it, it is never right to form human life and kill it, to give possible continuing life to others. Every laboratory “petri” dish that houses fertilized human embryos contains a human life. We have no right to destroy it in research or for harvesting its cells for treating human illness. Stem cell research is wrong unethical and immoral because it involves the callous destruction of human life.

6.      WE MUST EVANGELIZE OUR NATION- Indeed; we must work to change the hearts of American, young and old alike, to come to realize their own sinful and perilous relationship to our Creator. We must evangelize our nation starting with our youngest residents, our children. Get involved in Church children’s ministries, and work to win them to Christ. A changed heart will bring a changed life. There is really no other way to change our nation for the next generation. Lastly,

7.      WE MUST EXPRESSLY REPENT – Yes, we must all ask God for His forgiveness, personally and nationally, and ask Him to stay His hand of judgment that surely will fall to avenge the deaths of more that 40 million of His children who have been killed by those who support and promote abortion killings. Why even Daniel, the prophet of old, cried out for his nation when he said,

Dan 9:5-6 (NIV)  “we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. 6 We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.”

Indeed, as we remember the Abortion issue this week that was passed as lawful 28 years ago by the U.S. Supreme Court, let us also remember the Bible teaches that mankind created in the image of God, has a divinely endowed dignity that is sacred regardless of what age any life is found, regardless of what environment it lives in, regardless of its own ability to sustain him or herself, and regardless of their physical wholeness or not. LIFE IS SACRED! To reject this, ignore this, or violate this will undoubtedly bring God’s wrath and judgment.

May God give you a heart to stand with Him against the sin of our nation that callously goes on. May the Lord by His Spirit convict all of us of our complacency, and failure to be His instrument and voice to warn our nation of its crimes, and for us to be a part of the solution.

I call Heaven and earth as witness to the fact that all Christians, will also be held responsible for this tragedy of death, if we simply do nothing and remain silent to our nations great Holocaust. Yes, God will not hold us guiltless, but will also bring judgment on the Christians of this nation who by virtue of our size and strength can overnight change this wicked sin, but choose to do nothing. May this week’s remembrance of the U.S Supreme Court’s infamous abortion-on-demand decision become history in the 21st century. It can if we will rise up and be counted.

Gen 9:1 (NIV)  “Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.”

Gen 9:5 (NIV)  “And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.”…

…Yes, how sad as we move into the 21st century, that our nation and the world for that matter have thumbed its nose in the face of God the Creator. But know this,

Gal 6:7-9 (NIV)  “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
